Question: Can scented body wash cause an odor in vaginal discharge!?
I have been using scented body wash for years!. However recently I was treated for bacterial vaginosis!. It cleared up but like 2 weeks after my following period i smell a strong odor!. Im not sexually active at the time!. I dont wear tight clothes, some of my underwear are cotton!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It's the perfumes, alcohols, and artificial additives that cause BV!. I know women love scented body washes, but they should be limited to the outer parts of the body!. I always keep a bar of my fave!. soap in the shower, and when I use scented body washes, I use soap for the other area!. This will prevent yeast bacterias and BV from forming!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
My friend was treated for the same thing and her doctor told her it was b/c she was using antibacterial soap to clean her vagina!. He said it was ok for her to bathe with it everywhere else but there b/c the vagina needs a certain amount of bacteria to be healthy!. I also know that scented body wash can lead to yeast infections b/c of the fragrances!. You may want to try not using it for a while or at least not bathing your vaginal area with it!. Make sure you took all of your meds for the vaginosis and if you don't see any results consult your doctor!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Sure, lots of soaps cause this!. If you change soaps, it does that too!. Just call your doctor, they do an exam, give you a pill and a few days later it's gone!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
