I want to switch to a different birth control, should I?!

Question: I want to switch to a different birth control, should I!?
I'm been on the same one for 15 years and have had not to many problems!. Bad headaches, low sex drive, irritability, etc!. All tolerable, but lately (I'm 30) I've been having higher blood pressure (124/90 approx), really bad headaches during and right after my period, anxiety really bad during and after my period!. I'm going to my doc for my yearly next week and I want to know a little bit about other b-control before I go!. Any suggestions or personal experiences!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Sounds like you would benefit from changing to a different type of pill!. there are a lot more lower dose ones to choose from now!. Your blood pressure is fine, even if its higher than it was but your headaches etc suggest that what you are taking doesnt really suit you any more!. tell your Dr all your symptoms and ask their advice about whats best for you to take!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I use depo provera, so I don't have my period at all!. I get no pms, no cramps, and thankfully no headaches attributed to periods!. Obviously all methods have some disadvantages so I have included some sites for you to look at!.
I used to get anxiety due to getting my period, but mainly because I have endometriosis, so every month I was in a fair bit of pain, and I had extremely heavy periods, so was really uncomfortable leaving the house in case I had an "accident"!.
Good luck with it!. I hope you get a lot of suggestions on here to help you make the right decision for you!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Wow, you've been on birth control for 15 years!? I haven't been able to stay on it for more than 6 months!. I really hate the stuff and messing with my hormones!. However, I used to be on ortho tri-cyclen and it was pretty agreeable -- I barely noticed any side effects aside from some moodiness!. What I'd really recommend is getting off the pill, though, and going with a better , longer-term method that doesn't affect your hormones!. Really consider getting an IUD or talk to a ob/gyn or another professional to learn about other options!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

you should visit your gynecologist again and ask if you should get another birth control!. she'll know what's best for you and your lifestyle!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
