Question: It feels like a UTI but I don't think it is!?
Me and my boyfriend had sex about five days ago, and he used a condom and didn't pull out!. Then the next morning, we had sex again!. About two days after this I noticed that it was burning really bad when I pee'd, which was often cause it felt like i always had to use the bathroom, and my vagina constantly hurted but had started to feel better!. A day after this my vagina was hurting even worse again, and I was drowning myself in cranberry juice, but nothing worked!. So I finally went to the ER and told them what was going on and was prescribed "bactrim" and "pyridium"!. I took these last night at 8:00!. The problem is, they don't seem to be working!. I'm still feeling pain and having frequency to urinate!. Someone please help!? Please don't tell me to go to the doctor because I'd like some other opinions first!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Pyridium is for the pain!. It turns your pee weird orangeish colors!. The bactrium is to get rid of the infection!. It's not going to be an immediate thing and to make the curing process quicker, drink a lot of water!. Cranberry juice may irritate it with the acidity of it!. To ease the pain, try a heating pad on your stomach or sitting in the bath tub with warm water!. I get them all the time and I know it sucks!.
I'm not going to tell you to do this, but because I get UTIs frequently I decided to "F" the doctor and look into herbal medicine!. I picked up a bottle of Colloidal Silver from a health food store and put a few drops of 14ppm in my water when I felt the symptoms of a UTI!. I haven't had one in 6 months and I used to get at least 5-6 a year!. Just a personal story, not telling you to do it!. You can buy a home UTI test and a home Yeast Infection test at Walgreens, if you're curious!. Some people confuse Yeast Infections with UTIs!.
Also, people say the the recurrence of UTIs is due to the frequency that antibiotics are prescribed for them and the bacteria becomes immune to the medicine!. The person above me could be right though, you could have cystitis (irritation/infection of the urethra) due to the sex!. Either way, the bactrium and pyridium should take care of it in 3 days- a week!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You'd rather have someone else's opinion than a doctor who went to school and is far more knowledgeable than most on here!? Anyway, give the medicine a little while longer to work!. If you can, call an ask-a-nurse!. Sometimes medicine doesn't work right away, especially for these types of things!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
keep taking the medicine!.!.!.all of it!. it will work i promise!. the bactrim will kill the infection and the pyridium is for pain and will turn your pee orange!. always remember to pee after sex cuz that could be the cause!. you need to empty your bladder or bacteria could be stuck in there!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If you go in to your standard doc with your standard UTI symptoms, they'll check your urine out and prescribe a fairly standard antibiotic (like the ones you mentioned)!.!.!. nothing too fancy, but one that's known to kill your standard UTI!.
The problem is that not all UTIs are standard, and the sort of antibiotics that they generally prescribe kill only certain sorts of bacteria!. Doesn't mean that you've got some sort of superbug or anything!.!.!. just means you may need a different drug or a longer dosage!.
If you've got more antibiotics still to take, you may not feel better until you've completed them!. And if you're getting better but just not quite there yet, there's no need to freak out or anything!. But otherwise!.!.!. you're probably going to have to head back and get cultures taken!.
