A dnc is what happens when women abort their babies, or when they miscarry and the baby has to be removed from the body!. Those are the only 2 reasons you need one!.
If you have heavy periods, ask your doctor for a birth control pill!. They'll regulate your hormone levels and the bleeding will be lighter and for fewer days!. There's also a prescription NSAID called Meclomen, it's like Aleve or Advil except if you take it the 2 weeks before your period, it pretty much slows the bleeding to a near stop!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I had a D&C when I miscarried!.!.!. A D&C can also be used in cases where their is endometriosis or polyps!. Its a fairly simple procedure and really doesn't hurt but the doctor will put you under for this!.

A D&C is needed if you are pregnant and have a miscarriage!. That is the only reason, I have ever heard of for a d&c!. I think it can make your next period a little bit heavier, but I am not for sure as i have not had a D&C, just a natural miscarriage!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
two reasons i know would be for endometriosis and a miscarriage!. if your heavy periods are caused by endometriosis, then yeah, that would be the treatment, but other than that i don't think so!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
