My first period was a brownish colour but I did find some red too!. My next period also had brown and a but of red!. They were both 5-7 days long then they stopped and I got my normal discharge!. I just want to make sure that this was my period!

absolutely normal for a first time and yes that was your period!.!. it will probably take time before it becomes regular and you get it every 4 weeks!.!. in the beginning it could come early or come late and you can't plan for when to be prepared for it but if you had it for some years you will find it usually arrives 4 weeks after the last period stopped and you can make plans accordingly !.!. such as not to wear white during your period !. the first day of the period the blood tends to be more brownish in colour and also the last!.!. Normally it lasts between 3 to 5 days either of that is normal some have shorter heavier periods and some longer and not so heavy ones and sometimes they are not heavy at all!.!. also get sanitary towels !.!. you will need them!.!. from now on!.!. and change them regularly !.!.when you have your period!.!.you need to change several times a day and best use a different longer one for nights!.!.!.and body hygiene is even more important during your period!.!.and discharge is normal that is why you can wear thin panty liners during the days when you haven't got your period!.!. it will help to keep your underwear clean and you feel fresher and more protected than having a feeling of wetness due to discharge xxx
