Question: Tampons and pads what is better for !.!.!.!.!?
Okay I want to know what is better a tampon or a pad!. I have prom next week and there is a great probability that I will get my period!. Also how do you put on a tampon!? because I have never used one and I just want to know!. Also and how long do they last before changing again!? please answer this !.!.!. thank you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Well!.!.!. I would stick with a tampon!.!. unless you want the feeling of peeing the whole night!.
Tamons!.!.!.!. First!.!.!. the brand of tampon can make all the difference!. If its your first time, definetly stick with a plastic applicator!. Personally, I reccomend platex sport tampons!. Since I have heavy periods, i use the super sized ones!. Since its your first time, start with regulars since they will be smaller and easier to fit up there!. After you learn!. you can swith to super sized ones if needed!.
Second!.!. wash your hands!.!. blah blah!.!.!. so once you unwrap the tampon!.!.!.take the tip of the applicator (the plastic thing) and run it along the center of your crotch!. if you are putting pressure on the applicator (not the thing to shove the tampons) eventually it will go into a hole!. to make sure that its not crooked!.!.!. stick the applicator up your vagina (the newly discovered hole) and then push the tampon in!.!. the applicator will then come out!.!.!. and ta ddaa you have a tampon in!.
Third!.!. if you stand up and it feels uncomfortable!.!. take it out immediatly before it expands!.!.!. normally when its uncomfortable it means that you put it in crooked!.
Fourth!.!.!. when learning how to put in a tampon!.!.!. it will probably take many tries!.!.!. take atleast 5-10 mins before trying again!. trying too many times in a short period of time will make it dryier and harder to get in!. NEver practice putting in tampons unless you have menstural discharge or your period!.!. good luck on that!.
If you have a regular period!.!.!.
Super tamopns will last about 12 hours (not reccomended to be worn this long!.
Regular tampons will last about 6 hours
If you have a heavy period!.!.!.
Regular tampons will last about 3 hours (no joke!.!. i have the heaviest periods!.!.it sucks)
Supertampons will last about 5-6 hours!.
They recomend wearing them for about 4-8 hours!.!.!. soo look at personal stats above and see what will work for you!.
You will know when to take it out becauseit will feel like it is leaking or you will start to cramp up!. (you will learn what happens to you when you need to change them)

I recommend to use tampons which are easier and less visible disposables to carry with you, more hygienic in use and not visible at all!. It can be used when swimming, bathing and showering in the public without anyone knowing that you are having your period!.
1) Just for training: Try to put some lubrication on the tampon!. Use K-Y jelly or something like that!. Do not use water or oil!. Lubricated tampons will insert very easily!. (Do not use lubrication when really having your period and wanting to use the tampon for the real thing)
2) Please lubricate your index finger and try to insert your finger gently into your vagina!. Note in which angle it slides in and where the vaginal entrance is located!. Try several times until it feels comfortable!. Only then try with the tampon!.
3) For training purposes a somewhat squatting position is best!. Maybe use your bed when you feel undisturbed and not in any pressure regarding time!. This could also be a good chance to investigate yourself a little bit closer!.

Pads are healthier because it allows your body to rid itself of everything!. Tampons are not bad either so long as you are consistent in changing them frequently!. Each item depends on the flow of your period!. The heavier you are the more often you will need to change it!. Tampons, however, should NEVER be worn for more than 3-4 hours at a time!.

i wouldn't recomend wearing a tampon for the first time at ur prom as you have no idea how often you would have to change it or whether you will find it comfortable!.
try using a tampon before the prom (instructions in the pack - they are vey detailed and good) its bound to take quite a few time so don't worry!
if you are able to use a tampon before and find it comfortable then go for it , but remember to change it regularly as you don't want to be embaressed when u leak!. if you are worried about leaking then you could wear it with a panty liner just to be cautious!.
try not to worry and think about it too much as if you end up having to wear a pad you won't even notice and it definately won't ruin your night

Directions for using a tampon are on the package!. I would use a tampon for a special occation, however it takes getting used to so if you are not used to using them go with a good realiable pad!. Have fun at prom and be safe!Www@Answer-Health@Com
They're both okay but for prom I'd reccommend a tampon it's easier to use!. I don't know how to explain how to put it on but when you buy a box it comes with a manual that helps!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
