because menopause signals the body to secrete less hormones!. The levels of testosterone drop dramatically, therefore the sex drive goes with it!. Yes, females have testosterone!. Men also have estrogen!. Women have more estrogen than testosterone and men have the opposite!. Testosterone is the main hormone in sexual desire!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
It depends, i do a degree is psychology so i may be able to offer some advice on this subject, however the degree is in progress so it wont be completely medical :)
But basically your brain is full of lots of chemicals, hense why people get addicted to nicotine from cigarrettes and alcohol!.
Some women enjoy sex more during menopausal stage however some women go off it completely, it just depends on their own outlook on their life and how the chemicals in their brain are affected by this,

because they are losing a lot of estrogen during menopause!. which lowers their sex drive!. Most doctors will put women on an estrogen pill to help with that, but going thru menopause is a hard thing for older women!. their bodies are changing again, and you don't feel pretty, or want to do anything!. It does get better, my mom went thru it, i've seen it 2nd hand!. Trust me its not that they don't want to i don't think, its just they have no drive to!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Not all of them do !! Every woman is different and similar to men some have higher sex drive than others!. I know many women who have had their menopause and are having very active sex lives!. It gives them a bit of freedom no risk of pregnancy no messy periods!Www@Answer-Health@Com
