Hey, I remember feeling awkward about asking my mum too, but when I did she was like "sure honey" and we went shopping to get one at the weekend, it was no big deal =)
Try asking your mum when she first wore a bra first and then say you would like to start wearing one!. She'll be understanding she was a teenager once too, she knows what it's like! Or if you really can't say it to your mum try talking to an older sister or trusted aunt or something and they can ask her for you!.

One day, while shopping (This was last July, I was 11) I was trying on this top!. She noticed, and asked me 'Do you want to get a bra or something' I got all embarrassed as you do!.!.!.
If you can't do that, make sure you wear a t-shirt and try to show that you need one around her, or just say, 'Mom, all my friends have bras, I think I need one too', or 'Mom, I think I need a bra'
Don't be nervous, or embarrassed, because she has been through it aswell!.
What age are you!? If she says no, your too young, just wait and show a bit more!.
Don't buy one yourself though!.
Or, in the shops, look at the underwear section, and pick out say knickers with a bra set and ask!. Or just say, 'this ones pretty, can I get one of these please!?'

Tell her you need one!. But if you are only just starting to grow breasts, you should start with a crop top!. They are much better than bras, if you only have a small chest!.
