I think it's a good question!. I've tried to buy the organic tampons at the health food store, they are expensive!. I've read about the rayon and dioxin in tampons, I'd much rather have a 100% natural cotton!. I like the baby sock idea mentioned above!. My grandma told me they used cotton rags back in the early 1900's!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Reusable Tampons:

Ready to give up disposable paper tampons, but not ready to give up their convenience and to switch to cloth pads!? For an inexpensive solution, here's a Frugal Mom Tip!
Buy 6 pair (or more) of 100% cotton white baby socks!. Wash (and dry) three times with a natural, mild soap - rinsing well!. At your next period, simply roll up one baby sock into a tight roll, and insert as you would a paper tampon!. If you need more absorbency, use two baby socks rolled up!.
Replace it with the next baby sock as needed!. Rinse the used one out well, and store dry until washday!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I do not believe that you are asking this, just think how lucky woman are in the western world they have their choice of towels or tampons what ever suits them best!.

You wan tot go back 200 hundred years to the times when woman use cut up sections of cloth, well just think of the possibility of infection if you did not clean them thoroughly before reusing them, Stick to your needle work making a dress not sanitary productsWww@Answer-Health@Com

I have heard that women made underwear with a built in pad in the past with cotton as filling!. All they had to do was was them and hang them dry!. As for tampons, I don't think you could make homemade ones!. They would probably be poorly made and reusing them would be very unhygienic!. My question is, why can't you just buy some pads or tampons at the store!? It would be so much more convenient!. They really aren't expensive either!. Besides, theres always a risk of infection, and things would sure be troublesome then!Www@Answer-Health@Com
