Answers:
The life cycle of threadworms is only about 6 weeks!. The female worm lays her eggs round your bottom at night, then the adult worms die off!. The eggs are transferred onto your fingers from scratching or wiping after the toilet, or drop onto your nightclothes and bedding!. Eggs have to be swallowed or inhaled in order to reinfect you and start the cycle again!. So everytime you scratch your bum in your sleep (which chances are you will be because threadworms make you itchy), you will be reinfecting yourself!. So even if you treated yourself, you would probably soon get reinfected, as there will be eggs around the house from other family members who probably have the worms too!.

They aren't dangerous, and if you really can't bear to tell your mum, you will suffer no lasting damage from a threadworm infestation!.

I found an article here has some home remedies you could try, although I have no idea if they work!.

WAIT TILL YOUR 18!.
thats super ridiculous!.
the more you wait, the more of the chance that your whole family will DEFFINTELY get them because you keep on spreading the worms!.

I'm sorry dear, but things like that have to treated immediately!!!
You can not afford to wait! You don't know the consequences! We are talking about your health here, your well-being! Doctors see that kind of stuff all the time! They've cured so many people!. It is uncomfortable, I know, but it's not the end of the world!
Go to the doctor!. As for your family, if they have to be treated as well, it will be for their own good!. IT IS NOT YOUR FAULT!. And they know it!. Better safe than sorry! Be brave!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Pinworms don't cause any harm (just itching), and it won't take long to get rid of them!. And people who have pinworms aren't dirty - kids can get pinworms no matter how often they take a bath or play in the mud!.

Wash your hands after using the toilet, after playing outside, and before eating!.
Make sure you take showers or bathes every day and changes underwear daily!.
Keep your fingernails short and clean!.
Do not scratch around his or her bottom or bite his or her nails!.
Wash your pajamas every few days!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

There isn't a way you can treat this on your own!.
And don't go prodding anything up yourself!.
Is it possible for you to make an appointment with your GP alone!?
Or look up anitworm medicines and swallow your pride and buy some from the chemist!.!.
If not, you have to tell your mum, I know you don't want to hear this, but it's the only way forward!. You never know, someone else in your family might already have it!.
Be extra hygenic until you do!.
And remember it's not just your health at stake, it's your family's and do you really want to inflict this on them as well!?!?!?
I am sorry to hear you have been so unfortunate as to have this, but you must do one of the three!.!.!.
Good luck, hope everything turns out alright!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Pinworms are very common, and while embarrassing, usually don't harm the body as do other parasitic infections!. However, they are annoying and easily spread to other family members!. So you don't have to tell anyone, but there is the possibility that others in your household will contract them anyway!. Sorry about that!. Here's what the web says about them:

Pin worms are small (1/4 -1/2 inch long), white worms that look like small pieces of thread that cause itching around the anus (without a rash), especially at night!. Pinworms infect only humans, living in their intestines and are easily transmitted to other people!. The adult female pinworm travels to the skin around the anus at night and lays her eggs!. When your child itches the area, he will get the eggs under his nails!. The eggs are then transmitted to another person, who gets the eggs on their hands and then places their hands in their mouth, swallowing the eggs!. The eggs hatch in the intestines and mature into adults, who mate, producing females who can then lay eggs and continue to spread the illness!.

Pinworms are easily treated with an oral medication called Vermox, which is taken as a single dose to kill all of the adult pinworms!. A second dose is taken in two weeks to kill any newly hatched pinworms!. It is important for everyone in the household (except for pregnant or breast feeding women or children under two years old) to also have treatment, since it is possible to have a pinworm infection and not have symptoms and still be able to spread the pinworms to others!. It is also important to wash any clothes or bedding to destroy the eggs!.

I know this is an extremely uncomfortable situation for you, but the sooner you get treatment, the better off you and your family will be!. I urge you to get some help, and not be shy about it!. This is not anything you've done, so there's nothing to be embarrassed or shameful about!. Your parents are not going to be judgmental or laugh or make fun of you!. They love you, and would view this condition as any other illness or injury you may have!. Good luck, my dear!. Don't carry this burden alone!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
