Answers:
A pap smear doesn't detect pregnancy!. Only a pregnancy test does that!. If you didn't tell your doctor you thought you might be pregnant, she wouldn't have any reason to test you!.

The cervix of a pregnant women will sometimes be bluish or purplish in pregnancy, because of increased blood flow to that area!. But you didn't mention how far along you thought you might be, so it may have been too soon for any color change that would have been visible on sight to the doctor!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Pap smears are used to detect abnormal cells that could indicate cancer!. It is not used to determine pregnancy!. There are other tests for that!. Paps are normally painless!. You were probably tensed up and that makes it worse!. It's the speculum that can hurt when you tense up!. A slight amount of bleeding is not unusual, since the uterus is scraped to get a sample of the cells!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

No, pap smears can not diagnose pregnancy!. Your doctor can do a urine or blood test to detect pregnancy!. Sometimes paps make you spot for a day or two!. But if you think you are pregnant, do a home test and then see you doctor!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Well aside from the fact that WHY WOULD YOU NOT TELL YOUR GYNO, yes they can tell!. The cervix takes on a bluish tint when you are pregnant!. And your breasts become swollen and tender!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
