1] Most people feel this way!. I mean pads feel like diapers, honestly, or as you put it, a wet sponge!. I hated it when I first started, because I always felt like it would get 'full' and everyone could see!. If you're okay with using tampons, and are able to work them, then go for it!. They're much comfortable, and you can do a whole lot more, like swimming, etc!.

2] It's normal to feel like it's ''so wet'' but pads are meant to hold it all in!. Some peoples flows are heavier, and you can just get a ''heavy flow tampon''!. Or, you could just wear like a panty liner with it, that wouldn't help, and since its new, it'd be more reassurance!. :)

Oh the joys of being a girl!. :)

I wouldn't recommend tampons, but I know a lot of girls who wear them with a pad for extra protection!. They do prevent the "wet sponge" feeling, but they can also cause diseases and infections!. If you want to make sure and be safe from these things, use pads!. Tampons are good too, however, because you can swim with them and it stops the blood before it gets to ur underwear!. And we all know that sometimes u r sittin wrong and the pad isn't underneath you and then OOPS, theres a mess in ur pants! I use pads because i feel safer with them, however, i don't have a heavy flow!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

when i started getting my period i felt the same way!.
until my friend told me about "ob!." the are very small tampons they do not have an applicator so you cant push it up there to far!.
they come n multi packs for different kinds of period flow!. the also come as " silk ease" meaning they have a dry weave wrapped around them!. easy to pull out if your not bleeding heavy!.

i am 33 years old and i have been using the since i was 14!.

and it is OK to use both tampons and pads!. if the floe is heavy enough to go threw the tampon before you get a chance to change it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I'm 11 and I started my period last month!. I would consider pads for the first few times!. But, if you really feel you're ready, go for it!. It's good to start using them early, I guess!. And it is normal for a heavy period your first time!. Again, if you're ready, go ahead and try a tampon, but use a pad underneath incase of leaks!.!. since it is your first time!. xDWww@Answer-Health@Com

oh its okay!. thats totally normal!. I was afraid to use tampons at first, so i used pads for years!. it was fine!.!.!.it just got annoying!. I always dreaded not being able to wear certain clothes because of my period, so i finally decided enough was enough and tried tampons!. I never use pads anymore!. tampons are so amazing!.!.!.you dont even know you have your period!. Try the playtex gentle glide!.!.!.they make ones for teens too!.!.!. be patient, you'll get used to it & it gives you an excuse to lay around and watch a chick flick and get ice cream!.

good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

now for some helpful advise!.!.!. i'm almost 30!.!.!.!.!.didn't start wearing tampons till late 20's cause i just didn't like them!. they were hard to get in!. anyway!.!.!. for pads try always with wings!.!.!. they are great for heavy flows and they don't feel wet all the time!. if you want to try tampons!.!.!. i wouldn't recommend it so young!.!.!. i use tampax pearl because they have a plastic applicator!. they glide right in and use a panty liner with them :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

This is all a part of having your period!. If it's coming out heavy, you have to change your pads a lot more!. If it's ok with your Mom, then use tampons, they may make you feel better!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I'm 13, and I definetly don't use tampons!.
To me, they hurt like a mother bleeper!.
but before you use them, try inserting one when you REN'T on your period, to get a feel for it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

i use pads!. i got my period when i was 11 i'm 13 now!. i don't think i would be comfertable wearing tampons!. but if you want to use them!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

allie took the words out of my mouth!.
try the right absorbency tampon, along with a light pad in case of little leaks!. These 2 combined are almost fool proof!.
good luck with tampons!Www@Answer-Health@Com

theres nothing wrong with a tampon and a pad
atleast you not scared to use a tampon like me =PWww@Answer-Health@Com

with tampons, you wanna have a 'light flow' pad underneath in case the tampon leaks!. That's basically it!. Hope this helps u!!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

use a thinner pad with a tampon

try pad since it like your 1 MOST people wait a whileWww@Answer-Health@Com

a tampon with a pad is a good idea until you become accustomed to your periodsWww@Answer-Health@Com

Gurlie i hate to break it to you but this is ONLY your first period and there's no way to tell what the next will be like or when it will be!. Some girls go months without having another period after their first and some go straight into a normal cycle!.

If you are considering tampons take into effect if you're a virgin or not because they could be uncomfortable the first few times you use them if you are and some girls are weird about possibly breaking their hymen themselves (which doesnt always happen; in otherwords i've been using them since middle school and still have my hymen intact)!.

They also make ultra thin pads which wont feel like a "wet sponge" between ur legs!. I personally recommend Always!.

If your flow is extremely heavy I recommend using an ultra thin heavy or overnight pad with wings or in combination with a tampon if you're comfortable using them just to be on the safe side!. If you get confused going through all the packages Always ultra thins for heavy and overnight are in the green and yellow/orange packages that say Always on them!.

Its just something that takes time to get used to but you'll get the hang of it and if you're afraid of leaking remember to always bring a hoodie or something you can change into to!.

But leaks happen to everyone so don't dwell on it!. It's extremely embarrassing but time passes and you realize it's really not that big of a deal!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
