If course im going to have a bath first and wash!.

Don't worry!. The atmosphere at the GYN is almost always comforting!. The workers there know it is an awkward situation, especially for first time patients!. Upon arrival, you'll be led to the examination room and the assistant will check your blood pressure, weight, etc!. (normal stuff like that)!. The doctor may come in to talk to you then, or the assistant will give you a gown to change into (with instructions on how to put it on just in case :D) No one else is in the room when you "strip"!. lol!. Just fold up your clothes and set them on the chair or counter (whichever)!. Everything is pretty private!. If you're worried about discharging on the gown, that's why they wash them, but I don't think you'll have to worry about it within the 5-10 minutes it takes for the doctor to return!.
As for the odor issue, just make sure you shower the day of your appointment and you should be fine!. If you're super worried you can always buy Summer's Eve Odor wipes and use one before the doctor comes in!. Honestly, the first time going is a little nerveracking, but once you get through it once, the procedure isn't so bad and the worry lessens!.

I used to be a nurse for an OB/GYN!. There is absolutely nothing to worry about it!. Doctors and nurses have seen everything and been asked everything!. Discharge is normal and almost everyone has a 'smell', it's your normal body chemistry!. Take this opportunity to ask anything you are concerned about!. Don't worry about it, they're professionals, if you discharge that will actually help her get a diagnose faster since only some illnesses have discharges!. Don't be shy!. They've told us in medschool that shyness only gets in the way for doctors are not interested in seeing anything else than the clinic aspect!. Don't worry! Doctors are trained to look down there, and I'm sure they've seen a wide spectrum of vaginas!. I don't think ANYBODY'S vagina smells nice or is even scentless, so the doctor should be used to it!.

If the doctor is doing an internal examination, it really won't matter if you have discharged before!. Doctors know what that part of a woman's body is like!. All women smell a little bit!. It's just part of their job!. As long as you have washed before you go, that's the best you can do!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Your doc has seen it soooo many times, that everything is normal for him!.!. discharge, blood, etc etc!.!.!.
You could bring baby wipes with you so when you are waiting in the office you could slip in and 'freshen up'!.!.!.!.
He should be out of the room when you get undressed, and you will put on a gown and wait on the bed for him!.!. he shouldn't be watching you get undressed, that would be very unprofessional and awkward!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

shes a doctor,so basicaly she has seen almost everything there is!. She has also smelled everything!. lol!. the best thing u could do is what u already thought of!. take a showerand wash carefully down there!.

What is it that you think you may discharge- Or are you wondering about IF you have discharge!. Well everyone has discharge to a certain degree, as long as you are clean I wouldn't worry about it!. Use the restroom before you strip and freshen up!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Don't be worried!.!.!.just remind yourself that they have seen MUCH worse! Just think of all the diseases and labor they have had to deal with!

Actually, its better that you doctor sees and smells what's going on down there - that way they can tell if there is anything wrong!. Discharge will tell them all sorts of things, as will any odour!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
