Possible lump in my breast?!
Question: Possible lump in my breast!?
I decided to do a self-exam after watching a program on tv!. I noticed that my left breast feels different than my right breast!.
My right feels like it has a thick layer of glandular mass, and my left breast feels uneven below the nipple!. If I put my finger below the nipple and press downward, my finger runs over a small hump!. It's not round, but more long!. I can only notice it when I am on my back or with my left arm raised high in the air!. Both breasts look the same!. It is very small and may be that the glands on my left breast are just settled different than my right!. I currently have no medical coverage to get it checked out, but I will have some soon!. What can I do until then!? Does anybody know what a tumor would feel like!? It doesn't feel hard, which gives me the impression that I might just be over-reacting, but it's plaguing my mind nonetheless!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You can get a mammogram through your local health department!. It sounds like these differences should be evaluated!. It also matters when you felt the lumps - where you are on your period may make a difference of what "normal" should feel like!. The "best" time to do a self exam is about 2 weeks after your period!. When certain hormones are elevated, you can have wierd "lumps!." I totally undersand what you are feeling, I had a mass too and luckily it is just fibrocystic breast tissue but having it checked out ASAP is in your best interests!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
My doctor told me the lumps that you should be worried about will feel detached from the rest of the tissue, pretty hard and fairly round!. The most important part is being detached!. So I personally don't think it sounds like you should worry!. Also, in most cases a few months (if that's what you mean by soon) doesn't do much harm!.

but you could search on the internet to find out what a tumor feels like
but if you think you have breast cancer get it checked out NOW!!

See if there is somewhere nearby that does free mammography screenings!. Give them a false name so it does not hurt your potential medical coverage!.
