Dont worry about the colour! Its perfectly normal and it will often be that colour each month! As for your holiday next month, it would be hard to say if you would have your period but theres an easy way to figure it out!. Count the first day you get your period as day #1, on day #28 you should get your period again!. Use that to see if you will be on holidays next time you have your period and as for swimming, thats what tampons were invented for!. Get someone you know and trust to show you how to use them if your uncomfortable with the thought!. Good luck! :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yep, brownish looking blood is normal!. You may or may not be able to go in water depending on the time your period rolls around again!.
The fact is for quite a while your period is going to be irregular so watch out for the cramps and cravings!. Over time it'll even out!. That irregularity makes it hard to tell if water will be okay in exactly a month!. Also, water is okay as long as your not completely submerged in it (i!.e!. a bath)!. (Showers until then)
After your period is over water will be okay again, just watch out because sometimes it'll end for a day and start back up again!.
Anyhow, you'll be just fine!.
Hope it helps!Www@Answer-Health@Com

It's not unusual for blood to look brown on a pad!.

Tampons can be tricky for a young woman with a period!. If you must try a tampon, maybe you can practice this month with the thinnest tampon available!.

Ask a trusted girlfriend, aunt, sister, Mom, Gram anybody who can help you out with advice!.

You know what!? That person will be glad you trusted them enough to ask!.

First period may be the only one for a few months, but again, you may have another, yes, when you are on vacation!. Take sanitary pads with you and be prepared!.

Yes, unless you can master the use of tampons, stay out of the water!.

Do shower and bathe though! It's extra important at that time of month!. I hope this helps!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Go ask alice

women find that tampons do the trick!. Tampons are easy and accessible, and take less effort to use with practice!. Of course, they're not foolproof because, sometimes, there's leakage when a woman comes out of the water!. To help safeguard against this possibility, a woman can put in a new tampon before she swims and then replace it with a new one right after she finishes swimming!. Between changes, to be discreet, she can grab a towel whenever she comes out of the water to help feel more at ease!. Reading Virgin is eager to use tampons, but worried about hymen and Tampons or pads!? in Alice's Sexuality and Sexual Health archives may speak to some of your concerns!.

There are other less well-known alternatives: cervical caps, diaphragms, and menstrual cups, all of which serve as menstrual receptacles!. With these methods, you learn, with experience, to sense when they need to be emptied!. Then you remove the barrier, wash it, and re-insert it!. Diaphragms or cervical caps are fitted by nurse practitioners and gynecologists, and also would give you another contraceptive choice (used with spermicidal jelly or cream) if you have intercourse!. If you are a Columbia student, you can make an appointment with Primary Care Medical Services by calling x4-2284!. The menstrual cup is available over-the-counter!. You can read more about it in The ins and outs of menstrual cups -- How do they differ from tampons and pads!?!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Was your period heavy!? It if was your first period ever then it probably wasnt that much!? When your first staring out your period is pretty irregular, you proabably wolnt have it in exactly a month, but if you do just bring some tampons!. You can always wear some board shorts when goign into the water if you dont feel comfortable in a bathign suit!. And brown is normal, it will get reder as the the days go by and as the months go by!. Also you could wear a thin panty liner in your bathsuit cuz it probably wolnt be a heavy flow!. Don't worry you shouldnt make the water red lol!. And if it s the ocean dont swim at dawn or dusk cuz thats when sharks feed, sorry if this scares you it wasnt my intention, just want you to be safe and aware, tampons work best for oceans!. Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

don't worry, the brown spotting is very normal for the first couple days!.!.!.and also for the last couple days!. If you feel any cramping that is going to be normal as well!.!.!.try taking some motrin to relieve this!. If you go in the water you might want to wear a tampon!.!.they have them for juniors so you do not have to worry if you are a virgin!. Also, make sure you start to keep track of it so you can figure out your cycle!.!.mark on the calender for the next 6 months or so the first day of your period!. You will start to see a pattern and can prepare for it!. Also, if you are sexually active now is the time when you can get pregnant so go to your local clinic and talk to them!. 1) Yes, sometimes your blood is brown!. It's normal
2) You probably won't get it again in exactly a month, it takes a year or two for your cycle to become regular, so don't be alarmed if you skip a few months, or have it at different times of the month!.
3) Yes, you can swim!. Water temporarily stops periods, especially light ones, which yours will be for a while, since you are just beginning yours!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Brown is normal!. When you have your period your shedding the lining of your uterus and cleaning yourself out!. That's why it's brown!.

Your first year your period will be irregular!. If you do have in when you go on vacation, you can go into the water with a pad on, but it will get soaked with water and might float away(EEK!)!. If you want to go into the water I suggest you look into using tampons while swimming!.

Yes it is normal to have brown blood!. The beginning of your period may be like that!. And the end too!. As for the water thing your period may not happen agian in exactly a month because your probably not regulated yet!. But if you feel your flow is heavy enough you could try to use a tampon!. But I dont recommend swimming with a period!. It could be very embarresing if anyone saw that you had it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

yes the brown blood is normal!. as is red, dark red, pinkish, and dark brown!. as for vacation, it's hard to say if you'll get your period for vacation, every womans cycle is different so yours may be a 28 day cycle or a 35 day cycle!.!.!.!.or anywhere in between!. today counts as the first day of your cycle, count the days until your next period starts, then that is how long your cycle is!. some womens cycles are not regular, though and vary from month to month!. good luck, enjoy your vacation either way!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes it's normal for it to be brown! It's just all the dead cells sluffing off!. Some times when you go in the water your period will stop but I have the perfect solution for you! It's called the Diva Cup and it almost looks like a tulip and you fold it and insert it kinda like a tampon and it unfolds inside!. It's made of silicone and creates a water tight seal! With tampons and such when you go in water it absorbs the water and when you get out or sometimes in the water it will drain the blood!. It's a little expensive ( I paid $22 online) but you won't have to buy tampons or pads ever! You can get it at health foods stores!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Brown is normal, usually towards the end of the period!. Pads are great to start with!. The whole water bit, it's frowned upon if you wear pads in water, you can wear tampons though, but you should talk with a doctor or research it!. It's good to know everything you can about these things!.
Congrats, you're a woman now!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

i remember my first day, i cried all night! it is totally normal for discoloration!. its just your body cleansing itself for years of menstruation, but trust me after a few of them, It doesn't really effect you as much!.and since its your first, then you really have no idea how your days seperate, like every 27,28,29,30 days, so you just have to pray that it does not fall on that day( cause i had mine the day of prom!)

p!.s!.

EXERCISE! running a few days before you period eases the muscle, so less aching!
Hot water on your lower belly is very popular and helpfull as well!.
HAVE A HAPPY PERIOD!Www@Answer-Health@Com

you should talk to your mom or someone you feel comfortable with!. you can't go in the water on your period unless your wearing a tampon, like i said get someone older to show you how to use one, also you never know if your period will be regular especially if your young you could even not even get it at all!. you should also see a doctor just to make sure everything is working rightWww@Answer-Health@Com

The blood being brown or a darker red is normal, it just means the blood had been in you longer

Now however you can't be exactly sure whether you will get it exactly in a month, every girls cycle is different although the average one is 28 days, I would bring pads or tampons just in case!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

YOu don't know when your next period will be at all!. I suggest marking them on a calendar to TRY and figure out your cycle!. Your period stops in water, so if it is not very heavy, then you should be good!. Just, when you get out, put on a pad!. Or of course, wear a tamponWww@Answer-Health@Com

Yes it's normal!. Since it's your first one it is impossible to know when the next one will be!. A normal cycle is 28 days but you are unlikely to be regular that fast!. If you do have your period you can use tampons to go swimming!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
