You may need more than 7 hours of sleep -- most people need 8!. And there are new studies that say that teenagers actually need more like 10 hours!.

There are a few things you could do, though!.

For starters: when do your classes start!? When would the summer classes start!? Could you sleep in later!? Getting up at 5:30 sounds WAY early to me; right now, if your bus comes at 7, you may not have a choice, but if there is ANY way you sleep later -- even trimming down your getting-ready-for-school routine (I also used to get up at 5:30 until the day I decided that you know, no one at school really CARED if I didn't have perfectly ironed clothes, and then I started sleeping in until 6:30 and it made a huge difference)!. If your summer classes start a little later, that will help too!.

What time does your office job end!? Is it every day!? Do you have any flexibility at all in terms of the hours!? If you could go home from work even a half hour earlier, that's more time you could get sleep!.

The naps and the drinking Coke may also be big problems too -- especially if you take a nap longer than 15 minutes, because that could mess your body up when you're trying to go to sleep for real (as you've discovered)!. Sometimes you just have to, but people recommend not taking a nap longer than 20 minutes at the most!. And as for the Coke -- Coke has caffine, which gets you wired, but it also has sugar -- and sugar does give you a sugar rush, but that's always followed by a sugar CRASH, and you end up feeling even more tired after only about an hour!. Also, most people recommend that if you have trouble getting to sleep that you not drink anything with caffine after 6 at night, because that could run the risk of keeping you from falling to sleep on time!.

There are other medical problems that could cause people to feel tired, but I'd bet that your problem is more a matter of ordinary sleep deprivation than anything like anemia!. If you try to go to bed earlier and get up later, AND you cut down on the Coke and be careful about your sleep habits, and you end up getting an hour or two more sleep as a result, but you're STILL tired, THEN you may want to talk to your doctor!.

But I really think this is more a matter of you just trying to do a lot and not letting your body sleep enough!. Which is a hard habit to get into, especially if you have all these things you want to do -- but it makes such a big difference!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It's probably because you're doing too much!.
And caffiene can give you a quick energy boost but it does wear off leaving you tired!. You work after school; that is making you tired too!. Something is going to have to give, coke, work, and just focus on school!. And if you really need to sleep; take a benedryl!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

i agree with DBett!. knock out some sugar!. and stay away from energy drinks!. they knock u out after giving u that burst of energy!. i don't know about coffee for others!. for me i will feel awake while i'm drinking it!. then i'm right back to being tired!. try to take it easy now and then too!. stay well hydrated!. water is best!. if none of that helps!. talk to your doctorWww@Answer-Health@Com

Cut out as much caffeine as possible!. It can really interfere with your sleep cycle!. Also, do your best not to take naps!. Naps can hurt your nightly sleep because you're not tired enough at night!. Good luck! Teenagers need more sleep than older people, so try to get to bed a little early!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Could be anemia - you'd need a blood test to find out!.
Could be a food allergy!.
Could be your diet in general- too much sugar or junk!.
Could be you don't eat enough or get enough protein!.
Could be you drink too much coke, which is nothing but chemicals!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

i had the same problem and a friend told me it cud b diabetes!. but then i started taking vitamins and now i dont fell as tired as i used to:-)Www@Answer-Health@Com

hon , ur first problem is the coke , even a doc will tell u that an seriously u need to be check out by a doctor!. it could dietabetes!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

cut out the sugar in your diet for a while and see what happens!. Coke has A LOT of sugar in it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You shouldn't take a nap longer then 15 min, and if it causes you to not sleep at night then better to not nap at all!. School for the most part you are sitting around all day in class!. After school you are sitting in an office!. you need to recharge and start doing a little exercise to help stimulate your body and give you more energy!. Coke is not good but bring you up and then bring you down!. Water is better!. Vitamins are always a good choice and plenty of grains and vegetables!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

unfortunately your schedule sounds real familiar, and life in the fast lane sux, hard to say to slow down, when it's not possible, even though, that's what you need, and vitamin b all of it b6,12 and so on, it gives you a little energy, without harming you like coke, stop that, you think coke will help because of caffeine, but it actually will make you sluggish!. take your vitamins, drink green tea, if you son't like it hot but the cold drink !. and also sometimes i take excedrin around noon, it has caffeine and it helps me!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
