Question: What is involved in a visit to the doctor for a shot!?
I am an 18 year old who is scheduled to visit my pediatrician in a few weeks for the 1st round of the Gardasil shot and menengitis shot!. During that visit is it likely for them to weigh me and measure my height and blood pressure!? Or will they just give me the shot!? The reason I'm asking is because right now I am very embarassed about my weight!. I am 18 years old, but only 5'2" but weigh 170 pounds!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I doubt they will bring up your weight even if they weigh you!. In my experience doctors only do what they have to!. They will probably take your blood pressure though, maybe even after the shot just to monitor your reactions to the shot!. Unless you bring it up, or the shots are scheduled as part of a yearly physical, they won't address it!. In my experience at least!. Usually I walk out forgetting half the problems I meant to address and they never even think of them on there own!. Also if they do address your weight you have the right to say "thanks doc but I'm working on my weight problem myself" If you want!. Or if it is a physical maybe you can tell the nurse you would rather not talk about your weight with the doc and they will re-lay it for you so you can avoid the issue!. You will be weighed and height measured, your BMI (body mass index) will be calculated, they will more than likely take your blood pressure also!. If you have not talked about the Gardasil, they will discuss it with you and you will be given a card when to come back for your next injection!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
I just got a shot yesterday, and all they did was just give me the shot, but at your doctors office they may do things differently!.
Don't be embarrassed about your weight!. They are doctors and have seen pretty much everything!. And it is all confidential so they are not going to go blab to the whole world!.

They may weigh you in terms of how much of the shot they need to give you, but trust me, doctors are not paying attention to your weight unless you are in danger!. Think of all the disgusting things they've seen!.!.!.way worse than a little bit of extra weight!. They've seen people crap, throw up!.!.!.it's not pretty!. You're fine!Www@Answer-Health@Com
