Question: I took Loestrin (birth control) a little late!?
I took my birth control pill 2 hours and 7 minutes after I was supposed to!. I am on my period right now and on the sugar pills!.!.!.am I okay!? I was supposed to take it at 6 and I took it at 8:07!. I know there is a two hours grace period (either two hours before or two hours after the time you're supposed to take it) Do you think I am fine!?

I take Loestrin also!.!.!.

I was told by my doctor that if you dont take it exactly the same time everyday it does not effect the effectiveness of preventing pregnancy!.

I was told that by taking it a little late or early CAN cause cramps nausea or side effect like that due to your body taking the hormone at a different time!. It wond effect the effectiveness though!. Its only 2 hours!.

Where did you hear about the 2 hour grace period!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

2 hours is no big deal!. It's when you take it like 8 hours later or forget to take it all together that you can worry!. You have nothing to worry about!. And either way you are only on your sugar pills right now!. They contain no hormones and are only there to remind you so you don't forget to start taking the next pack!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

That is fine as long as you take one each day you are fine!. Like any medication it is best to do it at the same time but the results are typically the same!. Just don't miss days then you WILL have a problem!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You are taking a sugar pill
which has no effect!. So taking it later or not at all will not be bad!. The reason why they put those in is to make sure you keep the habit of taking the pills daily!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
