Can the pill make you have longer periods?!

Question: Can the pill make you have longer periods!?
I've been on the pill for almost 2 years and before i took it, my periods would last about 3-4 days!. Now that I have been on it for awhile they last 4-8 days!. That seems pretty long to me and I wanted to know if the pill could cause that!? I am also always really tired and get alot of headaches and have gained about 20 pounds!. I'm going to go to the doctor to check my thyroid but i just wanted to know if the pill has caused other people to have longer periods!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

i just started taking the pill 3 weeks ago and before my period was heavy and lasted about 3-5 days max but since i was on the pill it made my period last from 5-15 days and its supposed to do that the first time because it is changing your hormones and its your body reacting to something new but now my period is fine sono your not alone its actually pretty normalWww@Answer-Health@Com

Not me!. I used to have very heavy periods that lasted at least a week each time, and since taking birth control regularly, they only last a few days - and cramps are much less!! I personally think that weight loss associated with birth control is bull crap!. I think that weight gain is experienced as a result of other things going in a girl's/woman's life around the same time that she normally starts taking birth control!. I never gained weight from birth control, and I have taken many different kinds since my high school days!. I have gained weight from being lazy and eating too much, but as soon as I step on the scale and put some walking shoes on, I'm back to good!Www@Answer-Health@Com
