Question: Why is this so embaressing!?!?!? (females only)!?
Why is it much more embaressing to say you use pads, rather than tampos!?!?!?
I told my male gym teacher "I need to go to my locker and get a tampon!." (but i said it like it's nothin to worry about!.)

Because the advertising industry has taught you that people don't really use pads except to control embarrassing leakages of another kind and that only strong, in-control women with active lifestyles who don't want leakages use tampons!. It's the same reason that girls are convinced that stick-thin, boyish figures are sexy!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
maybe it's because you think tampons seem a lot more adult like, while pads might seem a little younger to you!. theres no age limit, but maybe it's more easier for you to say can i get a tampon, instead of can i get a pad!. i havent been blessed w/ mine yet, but i think if i had to say anything i would feel more comfortable just saying can i get a tampon, it just sounds different haha!.

Funnily enough, I would have hated to say 'tampon' to him!. Pads used to be really bulky and made us girls feel pretty stupid!. Now the sanitary section is really big in every shop (UK) - with pads!. They are so thin now, that they are really popular!. I go with the idea of it being conceived more adult to use tampons though!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I think this is because there's an erroneous perception out there that you are somehow more "mature" or "grown up" if you use tampons than if you don't!. This notion is a complete nonsense of course, but people can be very strange critters sometimes!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
My guess is because pads can bunch and a bulky and everyone knows it!. Ever try wearing tight jeans with a pad!? lol!. Doesnt work very well does it!? Tampons are just more pratical and less messy!. When things are common knowledge but rarely spoken of it makes things awkward!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
