Bacterial vaginosis? yeast infection??!

Question: Bacterial vaginosis!? yeast infection!?!?
my doctor told me i had bacterial vaginosis nearly 6 months ago!. i had noticed a weird smell down there!. i got the vandazole gel medication where you insert the application full of gel inside just recently though!.i haven't used it yet!.

i had sex (no condom) with my boyfriend 4 days ago, and at first i thought i was just sore from it!.

it stings a little when i pee(not bad though, i can ignore it), and i stuck my finger inside, and alot of creamy, sour smelling cottage cheese-like discharge came out!.

is BV the same as a yeast infection!? or is this my BV getting worse from not taking the medication yet!?!? could it be that my BV got worse from having sex with my boyfriend!?!?

i was planning on taking my vandazole gel medication this week(5 days) but i'm not sure if i can do this w/ a possible yeast infection, or are they the same!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
you need to treat the BV!. It doesn't just "go away"!. It is not the same as yeast!. It is an actual bacterial infection that needs antibiotic treatment!. It can get worse and cause serious fertility problems if you don't treat it!. Take the medication! Not only is it bad to not treat it, but you can pass this on to your boyfriend by having relations when you have BV!. You should treat the BV first, and then if you still have symptoms, go back to your doctor, to see if it needs repeat medication, or if you have yeast!. And for Gosh sakes, don't have sex until both issues are cleared up! Your boyfriend may want to get checked out, so you don't pass this back and forth between each other!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I don't think doing the gel is going to hurt you, even if you have a yeast infection!. I am middle-aged and I've never had a yeast infection in my life!. BV is just itchy, irritating and smelly, with kind of a thin discharge!. I've heard yeast infections are sort of creamy and sour smelling!. No, they aren't the same!. Not always, but a lot of times BV is caused by having sex with a new partner or in my case, every time I got it found out that my partner had been having relations with other women!. I was treated with antibiotics!. I think you really need to be checked out by a doctor or go to a clinic to be properly diagnosed!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
