I can't remember if you stated today as May 9, 2008, however I'll answer the question as if you asked this today!.

Every women's cycle is approximately 25-31 days long!. The first day of menstruation is considered day 1 of the cycle!. It's a smart idea to keep track of your cycle in your day planner so you have an idea of what is normal for you!.

The average cycle length is 28 days, therefore if you got your period today (May 9th) you can be expecting your period again around June 5th!. Again, this is a rough estimate since I don't actually know what your normal cycle length is!.

Assuming you get your period June 5th you have a couple options regarding the June 9th bridal shower date!. How strong is your period by the 4th day!? For some women, the period flow on the 4th day is very light and then you have nothing to worry about!.

If you absolutely cannot stand the thought of having your period for the bridal shower the only way you can skip your period is if you are currently taking oral contraceptives (the "pill")!. Again, I'm only referring to those contraceptives that allow for a monthly period (not those such as Seasonale)!. If you are on a pill that allows for a monthly period you can skip your period by skipping the placebo pills and moving right on to the next months pack!. This is okay to do every once in awhile but I would most definitely not make a habit of it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If you take birth control pills you can actually not skip any pills, just throw out your inactive pills and start right into the next months worth of active pills!. I don't recommend doing this very often though because it will really mess up your mestruation cycle!. I would only do this on those months that you have something really important going on!. You should also speak to your Dr and confirm this since I'm not a Dr and wouldn't want to give you advice that might end up hurting you!. It is your body and what you do is your business, and it has worked for me, but I hold no liability if something bad happens!. And also, it might not work right away so you might want to consider buying something you can take if you do start and are bloated and of course tylenol or midol for the cramps!. Good Luck!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

(sorry if you already know this part) women usually get their periods every 25-31 days, it's different for everyone but every 28 days in concidered the average time between periods!.

Often your period will be lighter or later if you change your exercise routine (or increase it rather)!. I play field hockey and during the season I exercise more than I normally would which usually delays my period or makes it lighter!. But other than that I don't know that many ways you can delay it!. sorry! I hope everything goes well for youWww@Answer-Health@Com
