Question: Tampons and my doctor, please help!!?
I have my 15 year old physical in a month!. I want to start using tampons but I'm really nervous to and I don't know why!. I want to ask my doctor her opinion on tampons, so that I'm not as nervous and can try them!. Is this strange to ask my doctor (pediatrician) about tampons!? especially at my age!? Also, how could I ask her!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

not at all! i was lucky cause i had my older sister to ask those questions!. your doctor is gonna be more than happy to help!. just ask, "i think i want to switch to tampons from pads but im nervous because im not sure how to use them" or "ive heard mixed things from people about them!.!." but personally, they are much better than pads!. and you get really used to themWww@Answer-Health@Com

You have to keep in mind that she's a doctor, so she knows all about the body and about growing bodies in particular!. To some extent, all doctors are trained in therapeutic relations, which means she'll know how to handle any awkwardness you might feel in the situation!.
Plus - you should feel very comfortable that she's a woman! She's had her period for ages!. :) You're not alone!. Every woman has experienced troubles and embarrassment and frustration with their period at some point!.
Just be brave, and ask her your honest question and let her know all of your concerns!. She'll be able to handle it no matter how to present it!.

If you are already sexually active , you will not have any trouble inserting a tampon!. If you arent yet, I don't know!. My best friend's older sister told me they would be hard to use while still a virgin!. I don't know if this is true as I never tried until much later!. There is no reason if you chose to, why you can't ask your Dr!. her opinion and wether what I was told is true!. I know you feel embarrassed but don't be!. She will be happy to answer your questions and I am sure she has been asked by many girls!. Try not to feel shy at least yours is a woman!. I had a man!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
I started using them at 15 too!.
They're fine hunny, as long as you're relaxed and calm, if you tense then you might find it quite uncomfortable!.
You don't really need to see a doctor because she/he will just give you the same advise as everyone on here!. but genuinely if that makes u feel better then ask away :)

Go ahead and ask away! Tampons are not a bad thing, I think they are much easier! Your pediatrician should be able to answer all of your question!
Just ask if she thinks its ok for you to start using them!
