I have had a rectal exam every year with my annual check up!. I dont know which docs the other girls go to, but it certainly is normal!. Women run the risk of having problems with their rectum just like any man or other mammal!. If your gyno doesnt check it out, who does!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

I have had plenty of yearly gyno exams (had mine today!) and have NEVER had a rectal exam done!. I would ask your OBGYN why they insist on it, what its for, what the risks are of opting out and then decide whether you want it done or not!. Ive been pregnant twice and had a yearly exam since I was 13 and I have NEVER had a rectal exam done or had any doctor even MENTION it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I have had yearly exams for the last 15 years and have never had a rectal exam!. I don't know where this came from, but the only time there was anything to do with my rectum was when I was pregnant and had a specific test done with just a cotton swab!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I do not believe it is a standard procedure during a Gyno exam!. Now, if you are having complications in that end, I'm sure they will check you out!. I have been getting paps for years, and I have never had a rectal exam!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I had a very good Dr!. who always did it, it is normal!. Doesn't hurt, just relax!. It is to check for hemorrhoids or growths!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

My doctor told me it was unless it's your first gyno visit/first pap smear!. I told her it was my first one and I didn't want it and she said I didnt' have to get it!.!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I've had one doctor do it out of my many exams!. He was older so maybe it's an old school type of thing!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
