Are tampons painful?!

Question: Are tampons painful!?
i've had my period for only about 3 or 4 years now!.
i've only used pads, and i'm so tired of them!
they give me major wedgies, they smell, and they are uncomfortable!.
i'm really considering using tampons, but i'm really scared!.
what kind should i get!? how do you know if they are low absorbancy, or whatever!?
do they hurt to put in/take out!?!?
are they better then pads, or should i stick to pads!?
how long will it take for me to get used to them!?
do you personally like pads or tampons better!?
i'm sorry for sounding like such a baby, lol!. i'm only 15!!
please help, thanks!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
no, tampons are not painful if you are calm and steady when learning how to use them and putting them in!.

for starters, you should get tampax pearl!. they're really smooth for insertion!.

the colors show the absorbancy levels and whatnot!.

tampons are definitely better than pads, BY FAR! after tampons, i've despised pads!. it's much more comfortable!. it doesn't feel like a diaper!. and you can be active in a tampon!. they also say that tampons relieve cramps!.

it depends on how comfortable you are on how long it will take to get used to them!. just read the instructions and take it slow!. it comes naturally later on!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

The first few times you use tampons will probably be uncomfortable to put in!.!.!.
I would wait until you are bleeding heavily(not the first sign of period rather) This will act as lubricant so when you insert it, it will slide in easier!. Plastic applicators slide easiest!. Start with a low absorbancy and see how long it can last you!.!.low absorbancy is also smaller!.
I prefer the freedom of tampons, and I think most women do!.
I remember when I started with them!.!.!.give yourself time to practice and do things slowly!.!.!.it will take a few tries to get it down pat!.!.but you'll get it eventually!Www@Answer-Health@Com

I used pads for about 2 months and got tired of them!. At first, it may be very uncomfortable, but after the first few, it will be fine!. I like Tampax Pearl because of the plastic applicator!. I find the cardboard hurtful!. It will say on the box which absorbency it is!. Tampons are 150% better than pads!. It only took me a week to get used to them!. I LOVE tampons because I see no negatives with them!. I hoped I helped!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Hi There,
You would definitely like tampons better!. Just get the ones made by Kotex, they have a plastic applicator!. They do not hurt to put in and they do not hurt to remove if removed when they are full(you can usually judge by the string being wet) or according to how many hours it has been in!. No less than 4 hours and no more than 6 hours or so!.Absorbency is on the box!. Go with a light and then see if you need more strength!.Some of the boxes have a few different absorbency's in them!. Good LuckWww@Answer-Health@Com

well i use pads to but im used to them so were they dont bother me anymore!.!.!.!.tampons dont hurt when you put it in but make sure you put it up there far enough so where it is not uncomfortable!.!.but if you try tampons and you dont like them think about trying the dixie cup!.!.!.!.but try tampax pearls!.!.!.!.those are pretty good or tampax sport!.!.!.!.!.it will probably take as long as it needs for you to get used to them!.!.!.I personaly like pads better!.!.!.and you go with whatever makes you feel comfortable!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

use a light absorbency for your first couple times!. but one with a plastic applicator and tip will be the smoothest to insert!. it may be uncomfortable the first couple times, until you get used to them!. but tampons are well worth it!. they may be uncomfortable to take out only if they are still dry when you go to pull it out!. but remember to atleast wear a pantyliner to avoid an accident!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I hate pads and im sure once you use tampons you will too!. They dont hurt but I guess the first time would probably feel akward!. What i did at first was buy these one ( cant remember the brand) but they say TEENS on it and they make the box look all nice and such lol but they are smaller so they go in easier!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

trust me tampons are so much easier!.!. they are way cleaner and all that!. the first time you put it in it's a little uncomfortable but it's fine once its all the way in there!. my favorites are tampax pearl plastic!.!. i would start out with low absorbency which is called junior or lite or something like that
it doesn't hurt hardly at all except when putting it a tiny bit if you're not used to itWww@Answer-Health@Com

No, they really don't!. I was just like you when I first started!. But honestly, once you get used to them they are so much better than using pads!.
It may feel uncomfortable and strange at first, but once you get it down it takes less than 5 seconds to do!.

Good luck!

I find that aspirin and Midol help relieve cramping!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

tampons will only sting a little the first time you use them!. After a whille your vaginal opening will get used to them and it will be like slipping on a glove (unless you wait for like years -kind of like a pierced ear) Also note: Tampons are an indirect way of taking your virginity!. Good luck=)Www@Answer-Health@Com

I prefer pads!. But tampons are good to use when swimming or when you're in sports!. I can't answer every question, but I can say that when I first used one it did hurt a little (in & out)!. That was my only time using one!. I'm guessing if you use them more often you should get used to them quicker!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Personally I like tampons much better than pads!. They aren't painful just make sure you get the right size for you (They have a teen or junior type of Tampax and Playtex) The absorbancey is on the box either Lite, Regular, Super, or Super plus!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I'd say try them out!. I can definitely relate to where you're coming from though lol!. I've had my period for 11 years now and I still don't use tampons! I tried tampons but they weren't right for me (for some people they just aren't)!. Give them a shot and see if they are right for you :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

I've used tampons since my third period!. They are not uncomfortable!. (just don't leave the cardboard in!) The absorbancy increases in size!. If you're light, you can go with a light!. If you're heavy flo, go for the supers!. Don't wear for spotting; grab a liner!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

No they are not painful at all!. Uncomfortable is a better word for when you start using them!. Start off with Playtex Slimfits, they are small and thin so they are easy to use!. Once you get used to those go from there!.
Good luck!
And your rights, pads are eww!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

omg i used pads forever and finally i was like, it can't be that bad, went out, bought a pack (you'll love playtex sport), and just tried a couple times!. it doesn't hurt and the directions are actually quite helpful hahahaWww@Answer-Health@Com

um they dont hurt, get low absorbancy cause the more absorbent the more you have a chance to get sick TSS!. It doesnt take long to get used to them!. I really only use them for swim team and swimming or sports!. Dont fall asleep with them--> VERY BADWww@Answer-Health@Com

This may sound odd but if you dont have a sister or are imbarassed to ask your mom then get with a close girlfriend and ask her to show you!. My friend tought me the proper way to use one and I was so glad when I did!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

you will love them and to start only buy Tampax brand and use regular absorbency and practice you will be fine they do not hurt use pantie liners too!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

They only hurt if you don't have them in all the way, as far as which kind should you buy, I would go for the health food store and buy the natural unbleached ones!.!.!.!.!.go get em' girl!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

no my mom kade me use and learn with them the first time so i woulndn't go through what you did use em i love themWww@Answer-Health@Com

no !.!. unless you use like a hugee one
and if your vagina is extremly tight
you might feel some discomfort but
thats it !.!.!. you will get use to it tho!.
just stick to pads :]Www@Answer-Health@Com

For me it is I can never get it in way too painful!.I say tampons all the way they could take some time getting used to!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

tampons don't hurt, just make sure that they are in far enough and that you use the right absorbancyWww@Answer-Health@Com

no
they r not painful at all
so dont worry about anythingWww@Answer-Health@Com

oh yeah, they hurt!.!.!. don't ask me how i know that since I'm a guy!.!.!. just trust meWww@Answer-Health@Com

Tampons!.!. im a guy!? I dont use tampons!. But girls that i beat with do!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

it lets u know everything like the obsorbancey on the box!.

they dont hurt!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I find that tampons make my cramps worse the first 2-3 days, but I get such wicked cramps that my doctor is sending me to the gynaecologist because he thinks I might have endometriosis!. But most people don't have a problem with them!. Just make sure you get the right absorbancy!. It should say on the box if they are for heavy, regular, or light flow!. I think that Tampax has a teen size that you could try!. Whatever you do, don't go for the heavy flow!. Those ones are uncomfortable!. Also, don't leave a tampon in for any longer than eight hours!. The longer you wear the same tampon, they higher your risk will be for toxic shock syndrome!. I usually use regular flow and use a maxi-thin for a little extra coverage!. Good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Well, you'll get a lot of answers!.

I use both!. Pads and Tampons

For tampons, I get Equate Plastic Applicater Regular flow: They are easy to use, and are Walmart brand, so they're good and don't hurt too badly!.

If the tampon is over-flowing, which is when it leaks, it means you need a heavier tampon!. Keep it in for up to 4 hours!.

They hurt me more to take them out!. But you get use to it (and if you do it right) after the first 3 days or so!.

I LOVE tampons WAY WAY WAY more than pads!. Pads are gay!. sorry!. but they suck!. I only use them to sleep in!. (Tampons are bad to sleep in btw)

And don't worry about it!. Everyone is curious!. Just try it for a few periods!. Then tell us if you liked them or not!.

Hope it helped!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

im 26, and id stick to pads!. tampons for me are too worrisome, as far as if im "leaking" or whatever!. Pads do just fine with me!. Another thing u have to be careful with is TSS!. Toxic Shock Syndrome!. If u do buy tampons, then the little guide in there will tell you everything about it!. Just scares me too much, i would much rather stick to pads than have something inserted in me like that!. at least with "always" brand pads, I know I cant go wrong!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
