Is it normal to have extremely painful cramps?!
Question: Is it normal to have extremely painful cramps!?
I usually only have cramps the very first day of my period and the pain is SO bad!. The cramps last about 6 hours and they're so bad I usually end up crying, squirming, etc trying to make the pain go away (I have a relatively high tolerance for pain so it's not just that I'm being a whimp about it) It's kinda heavy too (I'm not exactly sure what's the normal flow)!. Is this extreme pain normal!? I heard birth control can help but I really don't want to get on birth control!. I am just curious if having such pain is normal or is something maybe wrong!?

Unfortunately it is normal, and if you don't want to use birth control the best way to treat it is with over the counter pain medication!. However, your doctor can also prescribe you prescription pain meds specifically for menstrual pain!. I have a prescription for one called Ponstel because I'm in the same situation!. Birth control will help most likely - it definitely helped me - but I went off of it because of the emotional side effects!. (I don't recommend going on birth control either if you don't have to!.)
I would of course go see your doctor to rule out things like ovarian cysts and endometriosis, but most likely you're just having severe yet harmless cramps!. Some women just have them, and sometimes they get better with time too!. Mine used to not be as bad as they are now, but they were also worse a couple months ago than they are now!. Your body is just a weird thing that likes to change when it feels like it sometimes!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

unfortuneatly cramps are very normal!. bad cramps and lite cramps!. we are all different and are affected different!. your lucky its only the one day!. i get severe cramps for the whole week before!.
im 30 and started the pill around 19 or 20---when the doc said my body was ready for the hormones!. b!.c!. pills do regulate the flow and stops cramps!. but i would suck it up until your body is ready for the pills!. your still growing and your body is still changing!. you may not even have the cramps in a few years!.!.!.!.!.!.!. we are all different!. good luck!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

It sounds like your pain is severe!. I used to have that kind of pain also!. Just go to the doctor and they will give you extra strength ibuprofen if you ask!. Good Luck!!!Www@Answer-Health@Com
