i was quite scared on my first time -its ok to be nervous!. However if you're too scared, you get tense and that makes it much harder to get it in right!.
tampons with applicators are easier if it's your first time!. also try different positions to find a comfy way to get it in - you can squat or put one foot on the loo seat, one book i read even suggested that if it's you first time then try lying on your back in the privacy of your bedroom!!!
if your period is medium or light then as long as you wear a tampon of the correct absorbency then going swimming is no problem!. swimming also helps relieve mild cramps!

i was quite scared, yes, or anxious would be a better way of putting, it, but just relax, otherwise your vagina will tense up and it will be harder!. it's best to try if youre not scared of someone walking in on you, so maybe do it when you know you won;t get interrupted, or, if you feel that you can, tell the people you live with that you want 15minutes definite privacy!. maybe also try it when you are quite heavily on your period, as you will be more lubricated, and therefore it will go in easier!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
I wasn't to scared but I did go through a few tampons before I got it right!.
It isn't bad to go swimming without one if it is normal or light!. When mine is lite(which is almost never) the only time I see blood is when I wipe!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
