Answers:
I think it's a bad idea for a girl to start taking any type of hormonal contraceptive before she's fully developed!.

Also, I know you don't want to hear this, but I don't think anyone 16 & under is ready to deal with all the ramifications of sex ( a baby being a big one, stds, emotional stress)!. Just don't forget that Birth control is never 100%Www@Answer-Health@Com

I had to be placed on birth control at a young age (15 years old) to have my menstrual cycle regulated!. Personally I have to say it was the best thing I did!. I didn't have many of the side effects and before I became sexual active my body became use to the pills!. I now know people my age who will not go on it because they have been smoking since they were 16, they don't want to put on the weight, they don't want any of the side effects!. I feel the side effects are 10x more managable when you are younger and it has benficial features like cycle regulation, lighter periods, and certain ones even dissolve cysts!. I would reccommend trying to ge Yasmin i've been on it for about 7 years and have had no problems , and when they do become sexually active it is extremely effective!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I think birth control for 16 and under is an important backup to condoms!. Meaning unless you are in a serious relationship and your bf and u have been tested, birth control can be taken along with condoms!.

I think it is very young but some people are serious about eachother at this age!. I didn't have serious relationship and sex until this year and I'm 20 but had a good friend who at 16 was on birth control, and it was her mothers idea!. She was sexually active and though she told me she always wore a condom, she'd not have to worry about teen pregnancy if there was ever a breakage or slip!. I thought that was very wise and mature of her back then!. (And bonus for her supportive mother!)Www@Answer-Health@Com

I'm not so certain that you should be having sex at an age under 16!.!.!.!.BUT!.!.!.!.
If you are, then you should be protected!.!.!.HOWEVER, I am thinking that if you are under 16 and having sex, you may well be engaging in other risky behaviors (they tend to show up in groups) and would strongly recommend that even if you start the pill, you should use condoms to prevent against STDs!.

BC pills will not protect you from AIDs, Gonnorhea (can't spell) and other diseases!.!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

younger women, women with a lower level of education and women of a lower socioeconomic class have an increased risk of contraceptive failure rates!.

the birth control pill will decrease the amount of blood you lose during your menstruation!. Normally you lose 35 cc of blood with each menses, but with the pill you will only lose 20cc!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I think it's really important that it's readily available for under 16's, in a place where they can also get information on relationships and see counselors etc!.
This is because not all young people can talk to their parents/carers!. Young people will have sex, and should be entitled to the same high standard of health care as the rest of the population!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I think it might be a little risky!. It just seems to me that since they are still basically children and going through a period of rapid development that it might knock the hormonal balance out of whack!. Who's to say that later on in life they don't have a reproductive problem because of it!?

I'm not foolish enough to believe that they're not sexually active, because I was at a very young age!. Pregnancy isn't the only worry, either!. I'm amazed at how many people don't understand the risks involved with sex where STD's are concerned!. One foolish moment could cost you your life or fertility!. I say 16 is too young!. If they're on BC, they're less likely to use condoms!.!.!.!.and those are sooooo important!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Birth Control like the pill has the same effects on underage as it does anyone of age, and they are minimal!. and also it isnt just for protection, it can be used to regulate periods, help with period pain!. To be honest its better that girls under age take it to help them and be sure when/if it happens!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Birth control pills when taken correctly are virtually risk free!. I think it would be better that have a girl under 16 on the pill then pregnant!. Teenagers are going to have sex no matter what so instead of trying to get them to not have sex we have to try and get them to have sex as responsible as possible!. If a teenage girl is on birth control and using condoms then you cant really fault them for anything!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Need to use condoms for the prevention of STDs plus because 80% of the population has at least one STD, and girls need the pill so they do not become a teen mom!. Do I think young girls should be having sex!? No I do not, but they are doing it anyway and the teen birth rate is higher now than it was 5 years ago!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

well birth control is also used to help regulate the menstration cycle, so it really is up to the teens and their parents whether or not to be on birth control pillsWww@Answer-Health@Com

Under-age birth control is better than under-age mothers!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I think it's a fabulous freakin' idea if the 16 and under are having sex!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

wow you are thinking about sex already !?!?!? you are so young and only your parents and doctor could answer that for you but sex is not something that you should play with at such a young age!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
