Question: A serious, legitimate question for women who've had hysterectomies!?
After you've had the surgery, can you tell something is missing when you have sex!? Can your partner notice a difference!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
The only missing part is the womb and that can't be felt during sex by you or your partner!.
Everything sex-wise will be the same, or possibly better, if you were in a lot of pain before!.

saw your edit - I've had a hysterectomy and neither my husband nor I noticed any difference afterwards, except that i wasn't in pain anymore!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

1) A hysterectomy removes the womb and sometimes also the ovaries!. This difference is significant!.

2) If only the womb is removed, there will be no difference in sexuality at all!. The woman will have the same pleasure and the partner will not notice anything!.

3) If the ovaries are removed, too, the woman will immediately be in menopause with all typical symptoms!. Dry vagina and decreased libido the most significant!. Removing the ovaries will drastically change and reduce your sexual pleasure!.

4) If possible, doctors should try to save the ovaries!. In many cases this is possible!. Some doctors prefer to do radical surgery, but this is old-fashioned and not recommended anymore!. Try to keep the ovaries if possible under your individual conditions!.

5) There are hormonal therapies after ovary-removal to compensate somewhat for the missing ovaries!. While the libido can profit from the hormonal treatment, it also may cause adverse health effects!. Discuss this in detail with you doctor!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

My sister had a hysterectomy very recently and i asked her the same question but she sed it was alot better as she had no pain during intercourse anymore ( she had a hysterectomy due to having endometriosis)!. Plus the fact is there is nothing being removed from the vaginal cavity when the op is carried out so there is no reason for your partner to notice any difference, plus if you are started straight away on HRT this will help with the feeling of arousal as it replaces the hormones lost when you have a hysterectomy!. Also it depends on whether its a full hysterectomy or not, full hyst is removal of the womb & ovaries, this is what my sister had!. Shes only 35!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

My wife completely lost all feelings!. That pretty much did it for me too!. What a bad decision to get the surgery!. In retrospect, there could have been a less dramatic alternative to a complete hysterectomy!. It was 20 years ago and we had good insurance!. I think the drs!. involved did it for $'s!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
