average age of getting your period!? im 12 & all my other friends that are around my age are either getting their period or they have started the discharge after me but they have more!. im also kinda petitte for my age so if thats the reason, please tell me!!

Everyone is different!. I started mine when I was just barely 13 [last year]!. I'm petite too and really skinny!. From what I've seen and heard is that taller, and bigger girls usually start their period at a younger age!. The age groups for starting are usually between 9 and 15!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
11-13 is AVERAGE!.!.!.you can get it anywhere from 7-16!. later ask your docc!.!.!.

If you are a VERY athletic and active person!.!.!. your period might be held off until you're about 15 or 16!. But, I would say the average age is around 12 and a half or 13!. I got mine at 11!. !.!.

12 and a half is average, but up to 16 is still normal!. yeah, the bigger you are, the sooner you start your period, so that's very likely it!. don't worry about it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
there is no average age even though doctors have a guess but i knew someone who got it at ten and someone who did at 16 so it just depends sometimes you get it around the same age that your mom did hope this helpsWww@Answer-Health@Com
