Question: Is it safe to take the contraceptive pill three months on the trot with no break!?
Answers:
Hi Izzy,
Yes it safe to take your oral contraceptive pill for 3 months without a break!. I'm a GP in Manchester, UK, and I've treated many actresses and dancers appearing in the city during their stay here, when they didn't want to have a period that might interfere with their public performances!. (I've just made sure I didn't miss out the letter 'L' in public!)!.
Whilst you take the 'pill' continuously without a break you will not have period, but I reckon you shouldn't use it that way for longer than 3 months at a time !.!.!.!. you need to know that you are still menstruating regularly when not taking the 'pill' contnuously!. Dr ChrisWww@Answer-Health@Com

Sure, you can say if there is a particular reason in which you need to skip your periods!. Otherwise it's not recommend!. Tis is because if you continue to take hormones instead of having the week free hormone week, more hormones are being put into your body than t would naturally!. We can't be 100% sure what the complete side effects are from it (probably very few in reality), but obviously it's better to stick to what's natural as much as possible!. Because say you're on the pill for 5 years and skip your period every three months!. That's a lot more hormones you taking than what you would naturally!.!.!.!. If that makes sense!.

If the reason if for bad period pains, it's recommended to skip your periods every other month!. Or maybe try switching pills to try to reduce the pain!.

So in general, it's best to keep the skipping of periods for an occasion!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It is not necessarily dangerous but it is never a great idea to do!. When you dont have a period, the lining of your womb builds up in order to accomodate an egg should a fertilised egg settle on it!. This lining is then passed as a period once a month in order to get rid of that lining!.
If your lining keeps building up, when you do come off the pill, you will have a very long, very heavy and extremely painful period!.
Also, if you are having sex while on the pill without a condom, you wont be able to tell if you are pregnant and therefore, you may not be able to have a termination in time, should you want one (I am not condoning or suggesting this), and would have to have the baby, that I assume would be unwanted otherwise you wouldn't be on the pill!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

yes you can take the pill continually 6 or 12 months with out having a break, this is not harmful although some will say it is, i have endo and take the pill constant, and this is by doctors advise, i was concerned about the blood and where it went, but while on the pill the blood isn't prescent it is only produced when you stop taking the pill!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

it is ok to take the pill continued for 3 months however there are side effects initally like headaces, weight gain, nausea etc!. However research has shown if u use pills for more than 5 years at a time there is an increased risk of cancer but no body has ever found solid evidence for this!.!.!.!.my dr didn't mention this!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Sure women do it, but have most pills been approved for such use!? NO!.

I don't want my period, so I am taking a pill called Lybrel that is the first pill approved for continuous use which means no sugar pills, no period!. I don't feel comfortable taking other things which weren't meant or designed for such use!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

My doctor said it was ok but check with yours!. I wanted to do that when i went on holiday and didn't want a period!. Just don't leave it too long, as it does mess up your cycle!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

its fine ,i use to do that 4 years**Www@Answer-Health@Com
