Question: Choosing a Plastic Surgeon!?
I am getting breast augmentation in a month and have already chosen a plastic surgeon!. Just recently, I was told that I should go to another plastic surgeon in the same area because he is much cheaper!. The one I am going to costs $6800, but this other doctor costs only $5300 for same procedure and implants!. It is tempting to switch, but I already feel very comfortable with the doctor that I have chosen!. My first question-why would there be such a huge difference in cost!? And-how can I research them both to see which one is better!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

This is not the time to be bargain shopping!. You need to do your homework on any surgeon you choose!. Their qualifications, referrals, and your comfort level are critical!.
Contact your local medical board to check the records of whichever surgeons you are considering!. Look for citations, censure, malpractice, etc!. Look also for accomdations, awards, etc!. Confirm they are certified by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, http://www!.plasticsurgery!.org/!. NEVER use a non-board certified surgeon!. Ask for patient referrals and talk to other women who have had the procedure with him/her!. And above all go with your gut instinct!. It's important that you choose a doctor you're totally comfortable with!. There are websites where you can read reviews of doctors (the best way is to put the doctor's full name in quotations in Google, with the location)!. As for the costs, doctors charge a certain amount for supplies and operating room costs, and then the rest is up to him/her, which could explain for the big difference!. If you like what you read about this other doctor, it can't hurt to meet with him and see if you feel as comfortable with him as you do with your plastic surgeon!. If you do, then you can choose to switch to him, but remember, the most important thing with surgeons is how comfortable you feel with them!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Always remember the phrase: "you get what you pay for"!. If you want to save money by buying a cheaper brand of coffee, go for it!. When it comes to your health, body, and the fact that you will have these the rest of your life, I'd go with the dr you feel comfortable with!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Would you really want to go to the lowest bidder!?!?!? That's the way that I thought of it!. It is way more important to go to a PS that you are comfortable with and has a good reputation!. I would ask this question on the message boards at implantinfo!.com and include the city/state!. Lots of ladies from all over the states plus its a really informative site!Www@Answer-Health@Com
Do as much research as possible when choosing a plastic surgeon! I did a lot of research when I chose mine and he was more way more expensive than others, but he was worth it! Do not make your decision based on money!Www@Answer-Health@Com
