A ladies eggs?!

Question: A ladies eggs!?
okay I have a question!. if your AF is irregular, and has always been!. What are your eggs doing when you're not ovulating, and can you only get pregnant when you ovulate!? I'm just trying to understand the process!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Your eggs are attempting to ripen if you're irregular, but your body needs certain levels of Follicle-stimulating Hormone, Luteinizing Hormone, and estrogen before an egg can ripen fully and be able to emerge from the ovary and get fertilized!. So the eggs are sitting there!.

You can only get pregnant when one of those eggs ripens and emerges fully from the ovary!. In a normal cycle, the first day of your period is the first day of your cycle!. Ovulation occurs about 2 weeks later, though it varies from woman to woman and month to month, so even though I'm regular and predictable I may not ovulated exaclty on day 14 of a 28 day cycle!.

A few days before you're due to ovulate, your cervix (opening to the uterus) begins to soften and to produce a substance (can't remembe the name of it right now) that will, if you notice it, feel kind of sticky or lotiony and may leave a yellowish stain in your undies!. This substance changes to a more slippery, egg-white consistency as you get closer to ovulation!. The purpose of this stuff is to help sperm stay alive longer and to give them a good swimming solution!. Sperm can stay alive in the vaginal canal for up to 5 days prior to ovulation because of this fluid!.

Once you ovulate, the egg hormonally signals the sperm who repsond by travelling toward the "call"!. That way there are fewer sperm expended travelling the wrong direction (toward the wrong fallopian tube)!. The egg has a very short life span, 12-24 hours, and detiorates rapidly, and you can get pregnant by having sex the day after you ovulate!. However the chance is greater if you have sex BEFORE or AS you ovulate!.

The sperm have a very short life span, also, and are very fragile, especially the male (XY) sperm!. The males can swim faster but die more quickly and are more sensitive to the chemistry of the vaginal canal and uterus!. Female sperm (XX) are hardier and stronger, but they are carrying more genetic material and so they swim much more slowly!. If you want to have a girl, have sex BEFORE ovulation to increase your chances; if you want a boy, try to aim for sex JUST as you ovulate to increase the chances, though the health and age of the man and the general chemistry of the woman's reproductive organs (whether they're more acidic or alkyline) affect gender, too!.

If no fertilization takes place, you get your period roughly two weeks after ovulation, whether or not your cycles are regular!. Once you ovulate and don't get pregnant, you will get a period, a true period, 13-17 days later!. You only get a true period once you've ovulated!.

Sometimes ovulation doesn't occur for various reasons, not just some kind of reproductive abnormality, PCOS, dsyfunction, etc, but it can be delayed due to stress or illness, too!. My cycle is like clockwork, but I've been late several times because stress (death in family, divorce, big move) and illness (bronchitis/pneumonia) delayed ovulation!.

Hope that helps!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Your eggs are just sitting in the ovaries when you are not ovulating!. Prior to ovulation, a follicle-stimulating hormone will cause a few of them to mature!. One egg (usually) will eventually detach from its follicle and be swept into the fallopian tube for fertilization!.

You can't get pregnant without an egg and sperm!. The trick is in knowing when the egg will be available!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Female infants are born with all the eggs they have for a lifetime!. After puberty sequences of different hormones cycle during a monthly period of days to bring on the maturation and release of an egg and the maturation and sloughing off of the endometrium!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

yes will get pregnant only when you ovulate!. but without ovulation there is no chance of you getting prgnant!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
