How does it feel like when having your period?!

First of all, I started at 14, as did my mother!. Usually that's the latest!. I have heard of some girls geting it as early as nine or ten, but that's a bit early!. Every girl's body is different!. You'll start when you're body says it's time!. And trust me, don't be in a hurry!. It gets old really fast!.

As for what it feels like!. Well, again, every girl (and woman) has a different reaction, because, again, everyone's body is different!. I didn't start having cramp issues until I was nearly 20!. I've heard of people having cramps so bad they had to stay home from school!. I've heard of nausea, headaches, soft bowel movements, upset stomach, back tension, and a wide variety of things!.!.!. but seldom do these ever ALL happen at once!.

Me personally, RIGHT before I have my period, I start to cramp!. I'm talking hours!. Some have it way before, and some don't get cramps at all, but that's unusual because you're body is essentially "birthing" the shed lining!. Your uterus could almost be considered as "practicing" for having a baby, since it's the exact same muscle group!. A bit after I start to have cramps, I bleed a little, bright red!. I cramp for about a day, off and on, and then I bleed a LOT the second day!.

Flow of blood is also usually dependant on your body!. Your flow will be unique to you!. Mine is a little the first day, the ohmygodalot the second day, then medium the third, and then really light for the next couple of days!.

When you first start, you may be irregular!. I had a terrible time when I first started!. One period would happen for five days, then two weeks later, I'd have a seven-day -long one!. Then four weeks, and four days of period!. It was ANNOYING!. Talk to a doctor about your options if this becomes a problem!. I did!. They put me on a mild birth control (I was 18 at the time, mind you), and it not only made me totally regular, it also eased some of the headaches I had!. Now I never get headaches!.

As for angry fits!? Your hormones are in flux and you'll get tired and cranky!. Plus it's uncomfortable!. Sometimes I can *feel* the flow happening, and sometimes it's a little gross, so I get all wiggy about it!. But the first couple of dyas right before (and first couple days OF) my period, I'm a little unreasonable and have mild mood swings!. Otherwise, I'm not a terrible PMSer!.

So, be patient, and stay calm!. Talk to your mom or your doctor (or both) about what's going on and what your options are!. Keep a calendar to help you mark your days so you know when it will likely occur again!. Good luck!.!.!. and welcome to womanhood!Www@Answer-Health@Com

No one can say exactly when a girl will get her first menstrual period, but usually girls will get it some time during puberty!.

Some girls start puberty at age 9 or 10 where others may start as late as age 15 or 16!. Each girl goes at her own pace!. So don't think that it's a bad thing or that something is wrong if your friends start puberty a little earlier/later than you!.

At the beginning of puberty, you'll notice that your breasts are developing and you're starting to grow a little hair under your arms!. Hair also will grow on your genitals (pubic hair)!. In some girls, the time from the beginning of puberty to getting the first menstrual period may take only 6 months, where as for other girls, it may take longer and can take up to 3 years!.

Every girl is different, and there is a wide range of normal development during puberty!.
