Question: Girls + Periods at school!? ( Females please! )!?
I remember before I got my period ( January 18th 2008 ), nothing period-related was mentioned in our school!. Then, once I got mine like a week later everybody is talking about them!. My friends constantly talk about them, at the end of school you see dropped pads in the hallway, even today my friend was telling me about hers ( and i didnt even know she had it lol )!.
Anyways, I kinda wanna talk about mine too, but I always get nervous and uncomfortable whenever its mentioned!. I dont know how these girls do it! One of my friends just randomly said ' Im on my period ' in the hallway, loud too, with 6th grade boys walking by ( im in 7th grade )!.
I just dont want everybody to think Im the most underdeveloped girl in our grade ( even though I have like the biggest breasts in the school lol ), and i DO wanna tell my friend about periods and stuff!. Are you comfortable telling your girlfriends about period!? When did you start mentioning it!? I want to but I get sooo nervous!Www@Answer-Health@Com

I understand what you're going through! The ones yelling it out in the hallway are either on an adrenaline rush or are just in desperate need of attention!. It's normal to feel private about such things!. Don't do anything you're uncomfortable with just to fit in!. Talking abou periods isn't weird or unnatural, girls just tend to talk about them!. I wouldn't go screaming about them in the hallway but I wouldn't feel embarassed to *quietly* talk about them!. I also noticed it seems it's less embarassing when you say "that time of the month" or "Tom (time of month) has visited" instead of period!. I am comfortable talking to my friends about it, because everyone gets it and everyone else had it before me!. And don't worry about people thinking you're underdeveloped!. They consider you lucky!. I started mentioning it in 7th grade I believe, and I just got mine for the first time yesterday (:Www@Answer-Health@Com
ok its fine to talk about your period with your friend but you dont go blurting it out in the hallway when there are boys present!. You must at all times be discreet, never drop a pad in the hallway that is totally grose!. If you do not feel comfortable talking about it its fine too, let them talk about it if they want to but dont lower yourself to talk about it if you dont want to!. Sex and periods are a very personal thing, dont discuss it with others!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Sweety you need to calm down!. This is just the start of becoming a woman!. I was in the 8th grade when i stared my period!. I had no idea what to do!. My 6th grade teacher found me in the hall crying!. She told me that everything was fine and helped me out!. She told me that my body was maturing in to a woman!. You shouldn't feel nervous to talk about your period because by the time you are old enough, about mid twenties, you and everybody else will know and most of us hate them!. It's normal to talk about these things!. Some people do, some people don't!. Personally, I am a private person and I don't like to talk about it!. If your friends ASK you if you have your period, etc, then feel free to answer, but don't feel obligated to walk in hallways saying, "I just got my period!"

Somethings are better left unsaid!. Why do you feel the need to discuss it!? Maybe you can have a private convo with a really close friend, but you should avoid those that discuss these things walking down the hall, and sometimes they do not offer good advice!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
i don't mind talking about that kind of stuff with my friends,but i don't tell them when im on mine!. that's something i don't think my friends need to no, but talking about it is fine to me!. ?Www@Answer-Health@Com
It's natural to still feel "private" about it!. If you want to tell them then just tell them (but yeah I wouldn't advise screaming it out in the hallways that's just low rent)!. Just b/c they talk about it you don't HAVE to!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

it's really awkard to talk about it at first!. Try talking to your mom or an older woman about!. Old ladies are more helpful!. Everyone's different someone people are discreet about it others are more open about it!. They're nothing wrong with not talking about it!. I'm 17 and never like mentioning it to anybody unless they guess it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
