Question: I cut my foot open !.!.!. do I need a tetanus shot!?

I cut my foot open on rust on my friends car somehow and It was bleeding for a long time and there are 4 cuts and there all purple and really deep!.!.!.

I don't think I have even even had a tetanus shot before !.!.!.

My dad says I need to get one but I don't belive him!.!.!.

Also, I am 22 weeks pregnant if that matters!.!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

To be truthful hun it would probably be safe to see a doctor, if not for your sake, at least the baby's sake!. He may tell you to get a shot or he may just give it a clean!. Dont take medical advice off here because very few people on here are fully qualified to do so!. I like many others are not qualified to tell you so go to a doctor!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I would definately check it out with your doctor!.!.!.!.i got a rusty nail in my foot and had to have a tetnus!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.but i'm not sure they would be keen to give you one when you are pregnant!.
