my mom is 46 and just went to the doctors!. she found out that her bladder had dropped and so has her uterus!. i guess your uterus is supposed to be at 10 cm but hers is at 1 cm!. they were just going to take that out but she went back for an ultra sound and she had some cysts and some abnormal growths on her ovaries!. I'm so worried for her!. they said she is having the hysterectomy in about a month and she will be out of work for 6 weeks!. how does this affect you and will it be long term affects!. and how do they do the surgery!? do they remove everything!? also i think she is going thorugh menopause!. thanks for the help!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Try not to worry too much about this it is very common in ladies of your mums age!. Fibroids or cysts are usually benign and are easily removed!. In all probability the gynaecologist will do a vaginal hysterectomy and oopherectomy (remove the ovaries) mum will have no scar just a bit of discomfort for a few weeks!. Regarding mum going through the menopause a lot of Gynaecologist do a hormone implant after the operation when mum is still asleep which lasts for 6 months and will stop her having menopausal symptoms!. She can then take HRT!. The other thing is if the doc thought there was something really serious going on with your mum he would not wait a month to operate!. Hope this helps!. Good Luck to you and your mum she is lucky to have such a caring daughter!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
