Yes, to get a measurement about how far along you are!. They ususally won't perform the abortion if you are beyond 15 weeks!. They turn the US away from the woman, but if she changes her mind for any reason, there is nothing they can do and they should give her her money back if she already paid!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

im not sure what ru 486 is but i watched a programme about aboortions and they said that they msut do an ultra sound so that they can work out what type of abortion to do based on exactly what stage the fetus is at, as there are a few different ways to abort a baby!?
in the thing i watched one woman wanted to see the baby and another woman didnt want to see it incase she did change her mind!?
i think if you saw the baby on the scan and changed your mind you could leave , nothing making you stay , you are free to change your mind up to anypoint i thinkWww@Answer-Health@Com

I have no idea if they always do that!. But I don't see how a woman could be forced to view it herself, if she didn't want to!.
