Question: My doctor wants to check my prolactin levels!. !. !.!?
I have experienced a milky white discharge from my breasts over the weekend!. I have taken a pregnancy test and it came back negative!. What could be wrong with me!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Prolactin is exactly what you want to check!. Prolactin is a hormone secreted by the anterior pituitary gland in your brain!. It is coupled with human growth hormone so if you started a strenuous exercise routine or are under any other kind of stress, diet or otherwise, this may affect its change in secretion levels!. Prolactin is a hormone produced by the pituitary gland!. When there is an excessive amount of prolactin the production of milk can be produced which is one the symptoms you described!. You probably will have to get an MRI or CT scan, and also blood tests to see if the pituitary gland has enlarged since the pituitary gland is responsible for producing hormones such as prolactin!. Many factors can play into role one of them is stress as well as others!. I suggest you talk to your doctor to discuss your condition!. don't let people freak you out, this is very likely perfectly normal, just your body's hormone levels fluctuating!. checking you prolactin levels will let your doctor know if your body is producing breast milk abnormally and what he should do about it!. There is almost no chance that you have anything to worry about, just get the test done and go from there!. All the uneducated worry warts out there will have you worrying about cancer or something else!. Trust your doctor until its time to not trust him, you will know when that is!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Why didn't your doctor tell you why he is doing this!? Prolactin is made in the pituitary gland and also can be produced in the breast tissue!. The hypothalamus gland tells the pituitary to do this!. Doctors treat symptoms, not root causes!. He is trying to determine what the symptom means, medically, so he can prescribe a medication!. At this point, he may have an idea of what he believes is causing it, but he wants to collect more information!. This is not a bad thing!.
I wouldn't get too worried about the issue and like the doctor, you need to wait for the results of his test!.
Once you know what the results are and have a diagnosis, then you need to decide what to do!. Listen to what he tells you and then do your homework!. Do research on the diagnosis and then make an informed decision!.

I had that happen to me!. I was when my levels when low with prolactin that caused that!. there are many reasons for that!. take the test and they can do someting about it as they did for me!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Well, It could be that you are pregnant unconsiously that tests will come back negative but when time passes by then it will come out positive!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
