It's kind of hard to describe to you what the discharge is and what it's for!. It is normal for all women!. Basically, it is something your body does to make it physically easier to have sex!. (The penis can slide in and out easier - to put it bluntly!.) This shows your body is getting ready to go on to the next level!. I have two sisters!. The oldest got her period at about 15-16, I got mine at 14, and the youngest was only 12!. Each person is different, so be prepared!.

The amount is different for everyone, too!. Some women only have a tablespoon or so a day, and a light pad is ok for the entire day, but other women have a lot more than that, and need a larger, more absorbent pad changed several times a day!. Maybe once every two hours! I hope your flow is not this heavy, but it's possible!. If anyone in the house uses tampons, ask them (if you feel comfortable) to show you how to use them!. They absorb a lot more, and you won't have to worry about the pads bunching up and maybe showing thru your clothes!. Wear a really small "panty liner" anyway to catch leaks until you have time to change your tampon!. And yes, it will go in if you are a virgin - just get the young women's brand and take it easy!. The biggest thing to remember is RELAX YOUR MUSCLES or it will never go in!. Good luck!. And talk to your mother!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It is really nothing to worry about, you will bleed for about 7 to 10 days and most women have cramps, that can be painful!. Ibuprofen is my best friend during my period! Also, it is different for every girl and when you first start they will most likely be irregular, so always keep a pad or tampon handy as you will probably not be able to time them right away!. And never ever wear wight pants! Sooo embarrising!
And discharge is also normal, unless it is smelly, then you should see a doctor!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You really should talk to your mom but I'll tell you what I know!. You don't discharge during your period since its blood that comes out!. Discharge is your bodies way of cleaning out the vagina!. Its totally normal and party of becoming a woman!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Your first few periods will probably be pretty light!.!.!. in general, not that much blood comes out, and since it comes out over time (3-7 days), you just have to change your pad/tampon a few times a day!.
Don't worry about it too much!.!.!. it's not a huge deal!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

1!. When I first started I had to change my pads every two hours!. So a LOT!.

2!. Your period IS a type of discharge!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Its best to speak to your mum or even a sister, U dont usualy get discharge when u have ur period but when ur startin off it takes a while for then toreglate so always carry a pad with u my period only lasts 3 days u just have to find whats normal for u!. Avoidn too much salt and sugar drinkin water ans gentle exercise can help ease and prevent pain!.Its not all bad though chick ur becomin a woman, and sometimes a period is a good excuse for a hotwater bottle ice cream and a chick flick, also the old 'women problems' can get ya the odd while otta class ect dont worry their not half as bad as u think and the older u get the better they getWww@Answer-Health@Com

As your mom says, some girls get their period later than others!. the discharge you are having is normal, many girls get it in the months prior to having their first period because your hormone levels are changing!.
Periods normally come about every 28 days, (or 21, or 32-it varies with everybody, and some people are irregular, especially when they are just starting)
The amount of blood is not really a lot, but it seems like a lot!. Usually a bit the first day, than heavier for a few days, in about 5 days it tapers off and stops!. Sometimes it is good to wear a pad and a tampon both so you don't have to worry about accidents!. It is also a good idea to keep track of your schedule so you won't be surprised unpleasantly when it shows up!.
You may have tummy cramping when your period is coming or low back ache, you may also feel moody and crave certain foods!. Just take some Tylenol if it gets bad!.
The discharge you are having now will go away, BUT there will always be vaginal secretions!. When you are ovulating the secretions will get heavier and be like egg white!. (usually in mid cycle-don't worry!.) Hope this helps!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

periods are often unpredictable!. using your siblings age at starting is as good a way to judge as any, as heredity does play a factor!. I wouldn't worry unless you haven't gotten them by say 16 or so!. Also make sure you are eating right!. Poor nutrtion can make you miss periods or stop all together, though it usually takes something pretty drastic like starvation or anorexia!. Stress can do it too, or severe athletic training!.

Discharge can happen at any time!. Just when your body thinks it needs to clean things out!. just keep one of those little pantyliners wrapped to go in your purse or backpack for days when you get surprised!.
I think most girls don't get a discharge untio they hit puberty and are gettin ready for other things to start!. you might have it for as long as a year before getting your period!.
You might try marking down on your calendar when you get it and see if it comes around the same time every month!.

Also keep in mind that once you do get your period it may not be predictable for a while!. you may have it a couple of months in a row then skip one or start late!. It often takes aboout a year for your body to get things right!. keeping track of the first day of your period is the best thing to do!.
It will help give you a heads up as to when the next one will start so you can be prepared!. Most cycles run about 28- 30 days before repeating!.
Later on when you are ready for kids knowing how long the cycle lasts can tell when you are more likely to get pregnant (or not)!. And gives you a place to start counting due dates fromWww@Answer-Health@Com

your body is fd up!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
