My tampon doesnt fit =S? What should i do ?!

Question: My tampon doesnt fit =S!? What should i do !?
I started my periods just under a year ago and as all women know sanitry towels arn't the cleanist way of 'keeping yourself clean'!. So my mom decided to let me try a tampon, under the condition i change it every hour to be on the safe side!. However, i aimed for the base of my spine like she told me, but it really hurt to put in and when i took it out i was in slight pain!. Does this mean that in years to come when i decide to have sex that i wont be able to!? By the way Im 13!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I know exactly how you feel!. I was just the same and now i'm 24, I can't see what all the fuss was about! I started my periods at 12 and I reckon not for the want of trying, I was about 14 or 15 before I managed to get a tampon in happily!. Firstly, make sure you buy the tampons that are correct for your flow as in regular, heavy etc!. Secondly, relax!. As simple as it sounds, it's hard to do as you automatically tense your muscles up and you'll be naturally tight in the vaginal area anyway as nothing will have stretched it yet ( through intercourse, for example!. ) I used to put one leg on the bath and insert it as far as it will go tilting it as you push it up!. If, when you have sorted yourself out and you sit down, you can still feel it and have an uncomfortable feeling of it there, then it is not in properly!. I still do that test now!. Also, you can wear a tampon for upto eight hours a day depending on how heavy you are and so the fact that you're changing it every hour is why it will hurt so much!. The tampon expands inside you with the liquid that is produced and so when it's soggy and fat, it'll come out easier (disgusting I know!) If you change your tampon after an hour, it will still be dry because you'll have lost hardly any blood and your vagina will be dry anyway (it is particularly dry on your period) so the friction of yanking it out will cause the pain!. A basic rule is to try pulling it and if it's not coming out easily or it hurts, then it's simply not ready yet!. Try having a go inserting it once a day and just use pads in between, eventually you'll get the hang of it!. Talk to your mum some more and read the tampon leaflet!. As for sex, you're a long way off, but you'll be ok xWww@Answer-Health@Com

13 is young to use tampons!. Some girls dont use them because they dont want to which is fair enough!. Some girls dont use them because its awkward, and almost all young girls dont use them, dispite what they say, because their vagina is so small and as some people say 'tight', which means they cant really fit a tampon in because they are so young and their vagina opening is quite small!.
Dont use one if it is painful!. Wait until you are older!.
Just use sanitary pads!. They wouldnt be used as often as they are if they werent clean enough!. Tampons are not as clean!. It can block you up and gives you a massive chance of being more likely to get an infection than Sanitary pads!. Just change your pads every few hours and bathe properly daily and you will stay as clean as you can during period time!.
Using tampons and sanitary pads are nothing to do with sex in the way your talking about!.
Tampons are painful for you, so dont use them!. Simple as!.
Hope this has helped!.

If it hurts, then you put it in wrong!.
First open a tampon in the air and practice using the applicator to pop the white tampon part out!. This is what you have to do inside of you to put it in!. Throw out the tampons that you were practicing with!.
Then use your finger to find the hole to put it in!. It's the hole that is not your butt (Wash your hand after!.)
Then poke in the part of the tampon that does not have the string, and use one hand to hold it and the other to push the applicator up until your hands are equal!. Then pull the applicator down and throw it out!. If you put it in right, you will almost not feel the tampon at all!.
It takes practice, this doesn't mean you can't have sex in the future!. Keep trying to put it in right!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Try using the smallest size possible and keep trying - the main thing is to RELAX!. There is no need to change every hour unless you're bleeding heavily - every four hours is sufficient!. Read the instructions leaflet that comes with the box for more tips on insertion - what works for one woman doesn't always work for another!. You will be able to have sex and give birth when the time comes - the vagina is designed for both! Lots of girls have trouble with tampons when they first start using them, I'm 43 and I still occasionally have trouble now!Www@Answer-Health@Com

you were probably forceing it in there !.!.!. usung tampons aren't painful at all!.!. so if you feel that way then you are doing wrong!.!.!. you should try to ask you mom how to put it on !.!. just to be on the safe side!.!.!.!. and you will be able to have sex!.!.!. just dont keep putting it on that way!.!.!. get some elp form a friend or your mom!.!.!. or even the school nurse!.!. she'll tell you how to put it on right

Being 13, I wouldn't recommend using tampons!. Your hymen isn't broken( i would hope)!. And the longer you wait to put things in your vagina, the better off you are!. And yes I understand pads are gross, but we all deal with it at sometime or another!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

No it doesn't!.

It could be that the tampon had not absorbed much blood, when this happens and you remove the tampon it can hurt a little!.

You need to get used to it!. Maybe look at the leaflet with the tampons!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

use pads!. there are so many different sizes and thickness to them!. theres short ones, thin ones, thick ones long ones and super long ones that cover up your butt crack!. I tried tampons and i couldnt wear them either!. not my cup of tea!. keep your pads changed too!Www@Answer-Health@Com

i think u jus need to get used to it i found it uncomftable at first but it will get better after time n there so much better then pads i dont think ur go bk once u have tried!.!.!. ur be fine wen ur older having sex dwWww@Answer-Health@Com

I would use pads until you are slightly older!. Maybe around 17 or 18!. Pads might be kind of gross to use but change them every 2 hours or so and you should be fine!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

The first few times it is gonna feel weird just for that fact that you've never done it before!. Depending on how long it was in, it might have just been there wasn't enough blood in it to come out right!. That's normal to, another reason it may have hurt, is it may have been the wrong size!. If a tampon is too large then it will hurt coming out just for the fact it doesn't fit!. And the third reason it may have hurt is because you may have stuck it in too far!. You want to make sure that you put yours fingers on the circles on the tampon (normally right in the middle) and only push it in as far as your fingers will go and then push the tube into the outer tube!.
It's a little tricky to get the hang of it at first but after a few tries its really easy!. You should probably try using a smaller size at first such as Junior sizes, Lites or Regular size!. Then it is helpful to sit on the toliet with your knees apart, and relax!. If your not relaxed it makes it harder to insert! so take a few deep breaths!. Hold the applicator with your thumb and middle finger with your pointer finger on the bottom of the applicator!. Insert the tip of the applicator (try to angle it towards your lower back) all the way, then push the bottom of the applicator with your pointer finger until you hear or feel a click, then remove the applicator!.

If its in right you wont feel it at all, if it feels weird take it out and try again!. Don't worry its normal to have a little trouble!.

It probably hurt when you pulled it out because you didn't have it in long enough for enough liquid to be absorbed!. Either leave it in longer or use a smaller absorbencyWww@Answer-Health@Com

Relax it's alright!

I'm fourteen and just started using tampons a little while ago!. It hurt quite badly the first time I put mine in, but I know now (and then) I was using the right size and absorbency!.

You might not be used to wearing a tampon, afterall, sticking something up there is quite a shock! =P

This might also be your hymen breaking (or if it hasn't already through sport)!. The hymen is a little menbrane covering the vagina and it can easilt tear during sport, sex or inserting a tampon!. It's nothing to worry about, most girls don't notice it!.

Keep using pad and trying to use tampons until your confident that you can use them!. You will eventually find the perfect way and place to insert your tampon!. =)

I also want to add that changing it every hour, may be on the safe side, but if you haven't soaked up a lot of blood and the tampon is dry it may hurt a little to pull it out, so do it slowly and gently!.

This will not stop you having sex, don't worry! :)

Remember, a tampon can't go anywhere! :) Theres nowhere to go, its a dead end up there!

Good luck! =)Www@Answer-Health@Com

i had the same problem when i started using tampons years ago!. it's not that it doesn't fit, you are just a little tense, that's all!.
at the beginning it will be helpful if you buy a packet of small tampons like lillets mini and also get a small tube of KY jelly!. before trying to insert the tampon, relax yourself, even if it means sitting in the bathroom for 10 mins doing nothing!. put plenty of the KY jelly on the tip of the tampon and push it up and back slowly until you can't push it any further!.
when you go to remove the tampon and it still feels tight when you pull on the string, leave it for another while because it will hurt if you pull it out before its full, no matter what age a woman is or how often she's used tampons!. 1 hour isn't really long enough even at the lowest absorbency tampon, give it 3-4 hours but never more than 8!.
just give yourself time, and you'll get the hang of it!.
and, no, you won't have problems when it comes to you having sex in the future!. nearly every woman has trouble with tampons at the beginning, inserting one quickly is a learned skill (but well worth it)!Www@Answer-Health@Com
