Post menopausal bleed?!

Question: Post menopausal bleed!?
I have been to the doctor as I'm in my menopause and haven't had a period for a year!. Then I started bleeding - heavily!. The doc said I'd had a post menopausal bleed!. I'm going to he hospital to be checked!. Trouble is I have been looking on the internet and it says that the cause could be polyps or cancer of the uterus!. Does anyone know more about this!? What are the checks like etc!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
The doctor will likely order a transvaginal ultrasound!. It will look for fibroids, masses, endometrial hyperplasia, polyps, free fluid, basically any abnormality!. The doctor may also put you on progesterone, or some other hormone to stop the bleeding!. The causes for pmp bleeding vary from fibroids, to endometrial hyperplasia, to hormone imbalance to cancer!. The doctor will also probably run some blood work to check for ovarian cancer (CA 125)!.

Often, pmp bleeding is just a 'fluke' and is not serious, but, as with anything abnormal, it's best to check it out!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I did the same thing!. When I started back I was flooding!. I know have a hysterectomy because my uterus was full of fibroid!. But it's not the same for everyone!. My cousin started back after a year for 2 months, then stopped again and has not had one sense!. It is a good idea to be checked anyway to be on the safe side!. Good luck, hope everything is fine!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

My mother had the same problem!. Everything was fine!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
