My left nipple is incredibly painful, what could be the problem?!
Question: My left nipple is incredibly painful, what could be the problem!?
there is o lump, and its appearance is totally normal!. maybe a little pink and swollen, but thats just because i felt it to check for a lump a few minutes ago!. and the right one is fine!. i know it seems silly bit its so painful i can't really ignore it!. its been like that since i woke up and it just confused me because its unlike any breast tenderness ive ever had, as its much more extreme, and just in the nipple, and only one breast!.

Please ignore the idiots on this forum!. Like the first answerer said, go see a doctor!. That's always the thing to do with things like this!.
But nipple pain can be caused by lots of things!. From what you've said it seems like its an internal pain!. By that i mean not caused by rubbing on the surface etc!.
This sort of pain is usually attributed to hormonal fluctuations!. And although sore, will subside!.
How old are you!? If you are going through puberty then it could be related to breast growth!. If you are having your period, that could be it, in which case it may last until the period ends!.
If you are pregnant, that could be it too!.
Any of these possible!?

It could be a breast infection!.!.More information would be helpful!.!.If you are pregnant or had a baby,means it could be a infected milk duct that has caused an infection!. I have had both!. But the best thing to do,is see a doctor,if it is a breast infection you need meds to take care of it!.!.Or it may be something more serious!.!.I would see your gyno as soon as you can!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
