You might want to go with a pill that allows a period every three months!. Some people say that totally going without a period for a long time causes them to feel bloated and painful!. There should be no long term side effects to this kind of birth control!. You might want to consider the Depo Provera shot!. You get it once every three months at the Doctor's office!. You may be able to get it at Planned Parenthood too!. It will also stop your periods!. It may take a while to figure out which pill or shot is right for you since every woman's body and hormone levels are different!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

There are two current FDA approved pills for extended cycles: Seasonale (4 periods per year), and Lybrel (no periods)!.

They are about as safe as normal pills, but the down side is that your body EXPECTS to menstruate, even when it doesn't ovulate, so it is very common in the first 6-12 months to have what's called "breakthrough bleeding" or bleeding that is unpredictable, unscheduled and/or otherwise unexpected!.

DO talk to your doctor and see if you're a candidate for this method!.!.!.not everyone is (based on personal health and family history)!. Be sure to ask about ALL possible side effects, and whatever else you might need to know!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

how long has it been that you have not had a period!? I have not had one in two years and now i am having to go through all these test yesterday i had to have a endometrial biopsy, and blood work!. i go back tomorrow to have and ultra sound!. so far all i know is that i have pcos!. i was on birth control a couple of years ago so i don't know if that had anything to do with it but after i quite taking it then that is when my periods stopped so maybe it is a side effect i don't know that for sure!.
By the way i am only 25Www@Answer-Health@Com

They say it is safe but I try to spread the word about birth control pills!. I had a stroke from taking regular low dose birth control!. If you suffer from migraines don't go on them!. doctor's push women to go on Birth Control!. I would advise against it until more thorough studies are conducted!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

yeah it suppose to be safe!. what is that pill!? i think you get your period every 4 months or something like that!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It is not safe to not have a period at all if you are NOT on any form of birth control!. The reason is that the main function of your period is to remove the thickening of the uterine lining which serves to hold the growing embryo during pregnancy!. If you are using a birth control that lessens the thickening of this lining, there is nothing that will be dispelled from your body (e!.g!. like during your monthly cycle)!. Side effects for birth control vary from person to person!. Personally, I have tried Ortho Tricyclen, Ortho-Tricyclen Lo, NuvaRing, The Patch, and currently Mirena!. The reason that I have tried so many is because I get sick from all of the hormones!. The side effects ranged from nausea to headaches to fatigue!. Ortho-Tricyclen Lo was the best pill for me though because of the low amounts of hormone!. I never got sick, I just couldn't remember to take them because I had a very busy life!. I don't know about Yaz, you may want to ask your doctor!. Birth controls are definitely safe!. They prevent unwanted pregancies but they do not protect against STDs!. They contain hormones that basically slough away the uterine lining!. Ask your doctor for more info about Yaz and other birth control!. Try to think of how long you plan on being on birth control and think about the conveniences or inconveniences of different types of birth control!. These could have an effect on which one you choose!. Remember to always protect yourself when you have sex, no matter whether you are on birth control or not! Good Luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com
