Period clots?!

Question: Period clots!?
I got my period on April 30th 2006, when I was 12 yrs 10 months!. It was really light and only lasted about 3 days!. Then, I never got it again until May 10th this year! Thats like, 2 years! I am currenlty 14 yrs 10 mnths!. When I got it, it was realllllly heavy, and sort of "exploded" (like it clotted, and once the clot came out, heaps of blood came out with it too)!. Then I didn't get it again for about 3-4 days!. I figured it was because I lost alot of blood with the clot!. Then it started again pretty light, and only a bit came out, none at night!. Stopped about 3 days ago!. Then last night, another clot came out just before I went to bed, and my period started again!. Woke up this morning, and my "night time" pad was drenched! Is there any explanation for this!?

Well, I know EXACTLY where your coming from on this!. And it is normal!. I am 17, 96 lbs, and 5 ft 4!. And I did the exact same thing!. I started my period when I was 14 and then didn't get it until I was 16!. My doctor told me that when you are underweight and sometimes even for no reason you will be irregular!. And it just depends on the hormones in your body, your diet, and your exercise!. And for the next few months, and maybe years you will be irregular and your period will be "off track"!. And I wouldn't worry about it being all clotty because all women have that problem!. But, if you want your period to be more regular, shorter, and lighter then if you get on birthcontrol [the pill] then your period will only be 3 days long!. And it will be very light!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yup at your age thats typical!. Nothing to worry about!.

The clots are gross, but normal too!.

When I started my period I got them regularly for 6 months and then they stopped for like 9 months!. To this day they come and go and I'm 20 yrs old!. Good luck and dont stress yourself!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

irregular periods are usually caused by being underweight/overweight, and you're underweight!. tell your mom and get her to make an appointment with a doctor!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
