Swim class help??!
Question: Swim class help!?!?
ok, i am almost done with the school year and have an A in my pe class, we are swimming now and i started, my mom doesn't allow me to wear tampons and i really want to swim!!! our teacher lets us swim one lap and then get out; would it b ok to sswim that one lap with a pad!? any other suggestions (plz dont say just write a not!!!) thanks a LOT!!!!! : )Www@Answer-Health@Com

Well you shouldn't wear a pad, because like others said it will immediately fill with water!. Maybe if your flow isn't very heavy you could get away with swimming one lap really quick, then getting out of the pool wrapping yourself in your towel, then quickly ask to go to the bathroom(there are bathrooms on the pool deck, if you haven't seen them) and put some toilet paper in your swimsuit to absorb the blood until class is over!. Other than that I don't know!. I hope this helps =]

As soon as your pad goes in the water it's going to fill up with water, letting the blood into the pool, and then it's going to start falling apart - gross! Either use tampons or a moon cup, or stay out of the pool!. Sorry!. Your teacher will understand if you tell them you can't swim because "you know"!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Your mom is very old school!. Go out and buy some yourself or get one for a friend and enjoy your swim!. Sorry your mom is being unreasonable about a hygiene product!

The moment your pad touches the water it will swell up!. It will make you look like you are wearing a wet diaper between your legs!.
You might get away with blood not leaking if its just one lap, but the damage to the pad will be done!.
You really need to either use a tampon or not swim!.

It doesnt hurt anything to wear a pad instead of a tampon, but, be sure you have an extra one to change when you get dressed!.
