Yes it's normal to feel crampy and whatnot after a pap!. Just take motrin or whatever other over the counter pain reliever you like and it'll pass in a day or two!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

When we perform pap smears, we scrape, and most of the time that breaks skin/causes some trauma!. So yes, it's normal to have some pain, if subsequent pap smears leave you with no pain, consider yourself lucky!. Some women experience more pain than others because of simply anatomical differences!. Certainly, if the problem persists, or you begin to develop a fever, or signs of infection seek help from your doctor - but otherwise, it sounds like everything is fine (albeit painful)!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

hi there!. I had a pap smear while i was pregnant!. I didn't really feel any pain afterwards, just a little discomfort during the proceedure!. Perhaps the friction of tools being inserted cause your inner walls to swell a little, or perhaps there was a little tearing!. I would say if the pain persists or gets worse definitely contact your doctor!. You could have an infection, and they usually dont get better on their own!. good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

yeah don't worry sometimes the nurse can be a bit to ruff she sometimes can scrape a bit to hard take some pain killers and chill out for a couple of days you will be fine , But if you still have problems after that go back and see her you can never be to careful !.Www@Answer-Health@Com

At 51 I've had many Pap smear tests, and I've never experienced this!. It is possible you have developed an infection!. If I were you I'd go straight back to the doctor and demand another exam and a swab to be tested for bacteria!.

Good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
