Question: Will I get fat after tubal sterilization!?
I am 38 and planning to do sterilization through Essure!. My friends are telling me that it will change my hormones balance and specailly it will make me fat!? is it true!? thanks alotWww@Answer-Health@Com

Will you get fat!? Only if you want to!. It is important to develop and maintain a healthy diet and exercise program at any age!. This is especially important for you as you are not too long away from "the change" that will be associated by hormonal changes!. Talk to your doctor and dietician about putting together a strong regimine!.

2) The sterilisation procedures consists of blocking the fallopian tubes!. The ovaries, which produce the hormones, are not affected at all!.
3) You will not become fat because of sterilisation!. There is no effect on your weight at all!.
4) You friend possibly mixed this up with castrations by animals!. Castration in female animals consists of removing the uterus und ovaries!. It is done in order to change the hormonal status!. This is entirely different from sterilisation!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
