I was on orthro tricyclen and after about 10 years of taken it, I decided to go off for a month (I originally was on them when I was younger because I have severe cramps)!. Well when I did it, my cycle came after 28 days and so did those severe cramps!. The next month my cycle came on time!. I didn't wait after that month to start again!.

Just because you'll be away from your husband for 2 months, so that your hormones won't be thrown out of whack, I recommend you continue the pills even when you're away from him!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Sorry I don't take that medicine but aren't you concerned that it will take you at least a month for it to become effective again!? You would have to use an alternative form of birth control for that period--until your ortho becomes effective gain!.

Why not simply continue taking them!? You may not feel you need them but your body/menstrual and ovulation cycle is now regulated by them!.

Just my thoughts!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Im on ortho tricyclen lo and when I stopped for a month I did spot a little here and there, it was a pain so my advice to you is to just keep taking them!. Besides that you mine as well stay in the habit of taking them!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Your period should return to normal!. I do that method and only have a period every 3 months because of painful cramping and I do spot sometimes but nothing major!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It would be best to just continue with the pills cuz when you go on and off it really messes up your menstrual cycle!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
