I always start my period during the night, usually at 2am in the morning and the reason I know this is because I am woken up with the worst period cramps!.
Many girls get their periods during the night, it's just the way it happens and the way your body makes it happen!. Since it's a gravity drip, it may be lighter while sleeping!. However, many girls experience a heavy period when sleeping, so there's no rule!. You'll learn from your own experience what to expect!.
As tampons must be changed every 4 to 8 hours, consider using a pad if you routinely sleep longer than 8 hours!.
